Tzuco in Chicago โ€” Really Loved Every Single Dish! ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’–

Finally checked out this Mexican restaurant, and itโ€™s highly recommended!!! Iโ€™ve always loved Mexican cuisine, and this fine-dining spot is totally worth it. The appetizers are delicate and rich in flavor, the main meat dishes are perfectly cooked, and each sauce is wonderfully complex. I especially loved the fresh mint and mint sauce paired with the lamb โ€” such a divine combo, just like pairing fresh mint with Yunnan-style hot pot! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘ For two people, I recommend ordering 2 appetizers, 1 main, and definitely save room for dessert! This time we ordered one extra main โ€” portions are generous, so we ended up taking some home. ๐Ÿฑ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Mayan Ceviche A super refreshing raw fish appetizer! The sauce is tangy and fruity, with fried plantains and dragon fruit slices adding natural sweetness โ€” such a fun and delicious mix. ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ BARBACOA Tzuco uses lamb neck, slow-cooked until tender and perfectly seasoned โ€” not too salty at all. The bean sauce is incredibly smooth and tasty. It also comes with a small jar of pickled veggies, including my favorite green peppers (mild and refreshing). And yes โ€” thereโ€™s bone marrow inside the lamb neck bone! Lamb lovers, this oneโ€™s for you. ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Costilla De Res The short ribs come as one big bone โ€” enough to fill two people up! Delicious on its own, but I also loved the rich, deep-red sauce (not salty at all). You can make your own tacos with it, which is fun, though itโ€™s less unique compared to other dishes. If you often eat authentic tacos, maybe try a different main! ๐ŸŒฎโœจ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Durazno This was the serverโ€™s top dessert recommendation โ€” peach mousse with fresh peach chunks, perfectly sweet. And the peaches were crisp, just how I like them! The portion was satisfying too โ€” just dig in! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฐ The restaurantโ€™s decor is also very distinctive โ€” desert/wilderness vibes with great atmosphere. Ahh, I already want to go back! ๐Ÿœ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ Tzuco 720 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654 #ChicagoEats #MexicanFood #FineDiningChicago #Tzuco #FoodieFavorite #ChicagoRestaurants
