Ultimate Quebec City Food Guide | Must-Try List & Honest Reviews

✨ Hi everyone! It’s your unfiltered foodie blogger Ran Ran here! Just got back from Quebec and tested EVERY hyped restaurant from Xiaohongshu. Here’s my no-BS ranking (with 🟢Hits & 🔴Misses). 🍽️ RESTAURANT RANKINGS 1️⃣ La Buche 🥞 (🟢 TOP PICK!) "Instagrammable brunch heaven!" Why go? Giant portions, log-cabin vibes, and hot servers juggling plates (true Quebec culture!). Must-order: Sugar shack platter (shareable!) + maple-glazed bacon. 2️⃣ Le Sam Bistro 🥂 (🟢 Fine Dining Winner) "Castle views without the $$$$." Beats Champlain: Better value, actual edible food, and window seats = magical. Tip: Book ahead for sunset views over St. Lawrence River. 3️⃣ Champlain Restaurant 🍸 (🔴 Skip It!) "Goblin drama, zero flavor." (Goblin filming spot, but…) Cons: 3hr wait, $250+ for tiny, tasteless courses, snobby service. Save your money: Le Sam does "luxe" better. 4️⃣ Aux Anciens Canadiens 🧆 (🟡 Niche Pick) "Old-school Quebecois fare – acquired taste." Try for: Historical dishes like tourtière (meat pie), but desserts steal the show. 5️⃣ D’Orsay Pub 🍻 (🔴 Overrated) "Atmosphere > food." Avoid: Rock-hard seafood paella, smelly escargots, rude staff (they refused to store our cake!). 6️⃣ Cochon Dingue 🐷 (🟡 Solid Brunch) "Cute pig-themed chain." Decent but… La Buche’s flavors + aesthetics win. 7️⃣ ✨ Fairmont Gold Lounge (Secret Perk!) "Pre-dinner cocktails with castle views!" (Free for hotel guests). ⚠️ CRUCIAL TIP: EVERY decent Quebec restaurant REQUIRES reservations – book 1-2 days ahead! (Especially fine dining – walk-ins = 2hr waits.) #QuebecEats #CanadaTravel #GoblinFilmingLocations #BrunchGoals #FoodieFails
