Visiting NYC’s Oldest Restaurant 🍴🏛️
📍 Fraunces Tavern 54 Pearl St, New York, NY 10004 Opened in 1762—even earlier than the founding of the United States! This is a spot George Washington himself once visited. 🇺🇸 🦪 Half-dozen Oysters Tasted pretty good—fresh and no fishy smell, though they were a bit small. 🐖 Pork Chop Decent but a tad salty. A Bilibili blogger recommended it, but I found it slightly dry. 🍲 Chicken Pot Pie Despite the name, it felt more like a thick stew. The pastry crust was delicious, but the filling was overloaded while the broth was scarce. The chicken inside was tasty, though! 🥚 Scotch Egg The best dish of the meal! Surprisingly crispy outside with a soft, runny yolk inside—but at $16, it was pretty pricey 💸 There’s a museum upstairs, but the line was long. The restaurant itself didn’t seem to require reservations—looked like mostly big family gatherings. 📍 La Pecora Bianca Bryant Park 20 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018 An Italian pasta place I found on Google Maps. The food was okay, but I’m still not used to strong-smelling cheese 😅 The Caesar salad had no meat and cost $16—a bit steep for greens! 🥬💔 Have you been to either of these spots?
