This was my second meal at La Pecora Bianca in a week (two different locations). We were celebrating a birthday at the Bryant Park location. Our main waiter was very friendly, professional and helpful in accommodating some dietary allergies. However, the rest of the service staff were poorly trained and unprofessional. And the manager was not doing his job in ensuring a smooth operational flow. for example, one bus boy tried to literally ram our main course dishes onto the table while we were still eating our appetizers! Clearly, we had appetizers sitting on the table and we were in the process of eating. Did he not get trained to assess the situation before dropping the next course onto the table and at least ask if we were still enjoying our appetizers. Where was the manager or our waiter when all this was happening. Well, the manager seemed to be endlessly chatting near the bar the whole evening. As a result, the kitchen had to recook our main courses because they were brought out way too soon, so we had to wait longer than necessary for our main courses to be brought out when we finally did finish our appetizers. When they brought our main courses, it took forever to get serving spoons, salt and pepper, and olive oil. An Italian restaurant that doesn’t have olive oil and basic condiments ready for guests is puzzling. and how can the staff not realize that serving spoons should be served together with shareable dishes? The $25 cacia e pepe pasta was so overcooked and flavorless that it was simply inedible (even an extra pile of cheese and black pepper didn’t help). The chocolate budino was shockingly sweet, dripping in cheap tasting “caramel” that didn’t taste like caramel at all and more like very watery liquid sugar layered on top of the chocolate hazelnut base. Overall a very dissatisfying and disappointing experience from La Pecora Bianca. The quality of this brand has dropped significantly since it was launched and seems to have become a mis-managed big chain with poor quality food...

Read moreWorst experience I've had at a business dinner in NYC and they basically stole $1,300 from us. I've been in NYC entertaining clients for 12 years and I've never seen anything this bad. We did a large party with a $6,500 minimum, that seemed in line w/ our group size. First thing we do when we sit down is order wine and they told us we couldn't order the wine. At first they said it was something we asked for in the contract to have a limit, when we showed that was not the case, they said it was something they put in to protect us, but were were going to be way under the minimum and as the person paying the bill and signing the contract, we 100% did not want this. It finally came out that they only had a couple bottles and didn't want to give them to us. We tried ordering other bottles and they were out of any of any decent Champaign and wine. Service was slow and unresponsive. Food took forever to come out (even by large party standards) and mains were cold by the time they were served. People couldn't get drinks. But the thing that topped it off was at the end of the night the waiter slid the bill down without saying anything. We looked at it a few min later and saw we were 1,300 under our minimum spend. We asked if we could order some drinks. They said that it was past the time limit and that we don't order anything. It was still early, there was no party coming into the room after and they were happy to let us sit, just didn't tell us we were way off our minimum and gave us no chance to hit it. After escalating to the manager (who could not have been more rude), he finally said he'd comp us a round of drinks. When we started to order, he told us we couldn't order anything we were asking for and clarified that all they would give us was basically cheap well drinks, despite the fact that we had just paid them $1,300 more than we had ordered. With so many great Italian spots in NYC with good service, steer clear...
