Washington DC • Oyster Oyster Vegetarian Michelin One-Star Delight ❗

💰 Tasting menu $135 + tax and tip If anyone misses out on this place just because it’s vegetarian, I’d really be heartbroken, okay? 🥀 I’ve tried other vegetarian places before, but there aren’t many that are this delicious! No wonder it’s 🔥 like crazy. Upon entering, we were given a welcome drink, a green, sour vegetable juice (a bit hard to drink, haha, had to hold my nose to finish it) 🥦🍵 First appetizer: Celery crumble, 🦪 + kimchi, steamed buckwheat bun with black garlic filling? Flower roll? + Sesame and ginger, these three bites were all very interesting, crispy, refreshing, and soft. All kinds of textures were there, especially loving this bun. Maybe it’s the carb soul from my 🇨🇳 DNA! And this oyster 🦪 really hits the theme, small but very sweet! Second course, green bean + tomato 🍅 sauce, simple but refreshing vegetables. Third course, asparagus fried garlic risotto + broccoli bread (yes, it really has a 🥦 flavor), this is my favorite dish of the night! The garlic risotto is really more fragrant the more you eat! Fourth course, pumpkin seed Gnocchi + chicken of the woods, this is really an eye-opening dish. “Chicken of the woods” is a mushroom that tastes like 🐔 meat, also known as sulfur shelf. The pumpkin seed gnocchi tastes more like small buns, less chewy gluten, and more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture, very magical! Paired with fried mushroom pieces, it really tastes like a meat dish, very aromatic! Fifth course, dessert, rhubarb cake with a series of sweet and sour ingredients like strawberry, lemon, and elderflower, quite refreshing. Finally, we were given a mushroom chocolate cookie – bitter, not cloying, and delicious 🍪 In summary, the portion size isn’t large, maybe about 6/10 full, but the price is reasonable, and the creativity wins! It’s really not easy to come up with such varied flavors in vegetarian dishes! This ⭐ can be earned! #MichelinRestaurant #HiddenGemRestaurant #AtmosphericRestaurant #GlobalEatingSquad #VegetarianRestaurant #WashingtonDCFood #MichelinOneStar #Michelin #FoodExploration #DMVFood
