🤩 We Spotted Whales in Monterey!!
If you’re driving the Pacific Coast Highway from south to north, be sure to set aside 4 hours in Monterey for a whale watching experience 🐋✨ As ultimate procrastinators (team P forever 😆), we were so grateful that Monterey is one of the only places in the world where you can see whales year-round! Even with zero planning, we booked the 12:30 PM tour with Princess Monterey Whale Watching just an hour in advance via Google Maps 🎫. There are many companies at the port — if you haven’t booked ahead, just check Google Maps for availability or walk in. 📌 Tip: Choose a morning or noon tour — whales are most active then! Our 12:30 PM trip lasted 2.5 hours, and we returned around 3 PM. May is peak season for blue whales and humpback whales 🐋💙! We also saw sea lions swimming in groups — one even turned around and glanced at us mid-swim 😍🦭 🧥 Dress warm! It’s fine inside the cabin, but once you’re out on deck with the sea wind blowing… you’ll feel it right through 🥶🌊 💰 $70 per person on Google Maps — $5 cheaper than walk-in! Want VIP access to the upper deck? Add $20 per person. 🅿️ Navigate to 201 Washington St — that’s the parking lot entrance. Pay first, then park. #WhaleWatching #PacificCoastHighway #Monterey #MayTravel #OceanAdventure #Whales #Orcas #BoatTour #OurOcean #WestCoastUSA #USA #Experience
