Weekly Chicago Activity: Limited-Time ❄️
Roar! The exquisite one-day tour of the greenhouse garden has come to an end! 🌿 🌳 Garfield Park Conservatory - Just a 20-minute drive from downtown - As evergreen in winter, it feels like stepping into the Amazon rainforest. Warm breezes, lush trees, green leaves, and blooming flowers fill the entire garden. ‼️ PS: The indoor temperature is quite warm, and they provide coat racks for your jackets. - The garden has many sections, each with its own unique theme and characteristics. Tropical plants, algae, desert plants, and countless flowers. - In addition to the above areas, this winter they’ve introduced a snowflake ❄️-themed plant area. Here, you’ll find 25 macro photos of snow crystals hanging from trees or the ceiling for viewing. There are also winter-themed plants decorating the entire corridor, including popular plants like edelweiss, mint, and white violets, as well as hanging cedars and Japanese false cypress. Overall, it’s perfect for inviting friends to stroll and take photos! - If you’re looking for a quiet place to read or just daydream, this is the perfect spot! You can sit among the greenery and enjoy the tranquility of nature. - 🤩 Personal Recommendation: Visit the garden between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The lazy sunlight filtering through the branches and warming your skin is absolutely amazing! It’s super photogenic! Unfortunately, they close at 5 p.m., or I would have loved to see the garden at night. I bet it’s even more beautiful after dark. 🥸 PS: Although it’s free for Chicago residents, you need to book online in advance to enter. 🥣 Dinner We chose a Croatian restaurant that fuses Italian cuisine. 🚗 Rose Mary ‼️ Average Cost: Around $60 per person. They only serve dinner, opening at 4:30 p.m., and are very popular. Reservations are a must! - The menu is divided into four main categories: vegetables, pasta, risotto, and meat dishes. - The interior is beautifully decorated, perfectly matching today’s vibe! The dishes are both visually appealing and delicious. I highly recommend the Zucchini Fritters and Crni. - All dishes have bright colors, making them perfect for social media posts! The open kitchen also has seats right next to it, so you can watch the chefs cook while you enjoy your meal. - Minor Downsides: 1. Limited menu options and no appetizers. 2. Rich flavors and small portions (you’ll need to order at least two dishes per person). 3. No complimentary bread before the meal, and no bread on the menu. However, you can ask the waiter directly for bread at $4 per portion. #Chicago #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFood #Garden #ChicagoCFCHT #CFCHT
