When 1930s LA Meets 2025 Chicago—Oliver’s 🕶️

Ever since the Michelin-starred Arcadia closed, I’ve been curious about who would take over the space. Initially, I heard it was going to be a takeout-only spot, but recently I found out that a restaurant inspired by 1930s LA style finally opened here. Intrigued, I decided to check it out! 🕶️ **Tiger Prawns** 🦐 Picture one features firm and bouncy tiger prawns. Surprisingly, they’re seasoned with Indian spices—rich in masala aroma. The thick prawn meat, dipped in the flavorful broth, is so delicious that it makes you want to lick your fingers! 😋 **Stracciatella** 🍅 As a seasoned burrata lover, I couldn’t miss the stracciatella (Picture two). The toasted bread is topped with rich, slightly sweet cheese, and a bite into the roasted tomatoes releases the aroma of rosemary and pine nuts. If they ever start a brunch service, this dish should definitely be on the menu! 🥪 **Porcini Risotto** 🍴 The porcini risotto (Picture three) is a perfect blend of creamy cheese and earthy mushroom flavors. Although you can’t see the porcini mushrooms in the dish, every bite is infused with their rich aroma. The only downside? It’s just a shallow layer at the bottom of the plate. 😔 **The Burger** 🍔 Picture four is probably the best burger I’ve had recently. It’s similar in style and flavor to the burgers at Loyalist, and just as delicious. The meat is thick and substantial, not like the smash patties that were so popular lately. The sauce is a mix of creamy and garlicky flavors—I’m obsessed! ❤️ **Dog Park View** 🐶 Bonus: There’s a small dog park right outside the window (Picture five). You can enjoy the view of playful pups while dining, which is a real treat for animal lovers! 🐾 The restaurant describes itself as New American style. The menu is concise compared to many others, but every dish looks great. At least, everything I tried was delicious and showcased the chef’s skill. I’m not sure why it’s not more crowded, but I’ll definitely be back! 🍽️ #FoodieSummerMeow #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFood #ChicagoEats #Chicago #NewAmericanCuisine #GlobalEatingSquad #NorthAmericanLife
