Winter Break Cafés & Bakeries in Chicago 🍩☕️
Spent almost a month in Chicago over winter break—ate so happily! Posting to remember the cafés and bakeries I visited—no regrets. Next post: restaurants 🙋🏻♀️ 📍 Cafe Deko Nice vibe and atmosphere, with cozy couches and small tables. Music isn’t too loud—great for chatting or working. 📍 Voodoo Donut Every time I go, I pause to admire that donut shape… but never dared to buy it 😅 Got the Old Dirty Bastard instead—loaded with toppings, sugar high in one bite! 📍 Swadesi Cafe Recent seasonal special: Banana Cream—highly recommended! Their matcha is quality, not like chain-store matcha. They always have seasonal drinks—before it was strawberry matcha and sparkling matcha. 📍 Seedo Levantine Bakery A pleasant surprise—didn’t expect such a bougie food court in the Financial District! Ordered a latte and pistachio croissant. Plenty of seating too. 📍 The Crepe Shop A small spot in Lincoln Park. My review: not too sweet! After eating, walked around the neighborhood—lots of cute little shops. 📍 Noodle Bird Heard it has the best egg tarts in Chicago? I haven’t tried others, but these were good. Plus, you can Uber/DoorDash them—super convenient. 📍 Del Sur Bakery Went when it first opened—waited almost 2 hours 😵 This time was much better: rainy Saturday, only 30 minutes in line. Got my favorite Turon Danish and a new passionfruit pastry—both highly recommended! #ChicagoEats #CafeHopping #BakeryLove #WinterInChicago #FoodDiary 🥐🍵✨
