Came here for lunch on St Patty’s Day. This place has packaged goods (liquor) for take out and is opened late. Staff is NOT friendly but the local people were very welcoming. Place had an eclectic menu with a great variety of food. Not just the typical bar menu either. One of the BIGGEST ISSUES with this place is the OVER TAN bartender (FEMALE) who copped an attitude and actually made several RUDE comments. She also was making RUDE comments to a customer about other patrons in the bar as well. Not a very welcoming place- would advise to spend your $$$ elsewhere. Funny, was happy with this place until the rude bartender made the above referenced nasty comments. NOT what one wants to hear when you are spending money at their establishment. Guess it’s tough to accept the fact you are a washed up old stripper who has lost her looks and is now working at some Slower Jersey Dive bar. Ugh- go spend your money somewhere else.

We came in after an extremely long drive and even longer day at the beach and dealing with our rental condo... We were warmly greeted and sat immediately although quite busy being during the dinner rush. Draft beer was right on time and drinks came out immediately. Nice interior design! It definitely looked like a wine cellar with a cute bar in the middle. Our waitress was wonderful and tended to us and our very tired cranky children. She was very helpful with food recommendations. Typical pub style food. Everyone ate and was satisfied with what they ordered. I was so appreciative of her lovely personality! It was exactly what we needed! Thanks for the great service 😀

We ate dinner upstairs so we could hear each other talk without yelling over the music. We were promptly seated and served our drinks. The waiter was very nice and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious. The prime beef was not fatty or overcooked. The salmon is always a favorite, along with the crab cakes. The wings were good too, but you can't order just flats.😡 They did forget the blue cheese, but no biggie. The manager came up and asked how everything was. Good night at the Cellar!

I feel like I'm being generous here. The food is average at best, and the drinks are quite bad. It's like they couldn't even get the bartenders to learn the most basic recipes, even when you ask for common drinks like an Old Fashioned.

But I could live with that, except the service is truly terrible. I've been here on the most deserted days of winter, and the busiest days of summer. No matter what, the people at the bar are always frantic, disorganized and borderline hysterical. It takes three tries to get a menu, more than that to get a check, and in between good luck getting someone's attention to take an order for anything.

I've literally sat at the bar and watched bartender after bartender walk by with their heads down, never looking at my glass or plate or seeing what anyone around them might need.

Every time I'm here it's another drama. They lost my order. The computer isn't working. They can't find the bitters. Whatever it is, means I'm waiting a long time and usually not getting what I ordered.

Like I said, the food is ok. I've had decent burgers and pizzas and chicken fingers and nachos. But I have never had a good or consistent drink.

The table service is marginally better than the bar service because someone occasionally stops by to ask how you're doing. At the bar it's like you don't exist.

But at the tables they are also not very attentive either, because one time we ordered wine, and apparently there are two versions of this wine - one that costs maybe $50 and one that costs $200. Instead of clarifying, they served us the $200 version which we were absolutely not expecting, and they did nothing to resolve it when we expressed our surprise.

They have also changed the menu recently so things are more expensive. A drink I used to order all the time is now served in a much smaller glass. When I saw another person next to me order it and get the bigger glass, I asked why. They told me that person was "a regular" and brought their own glass.

In terms of food, they used to have a burger with an egg on top. Now the egg is an "addition" which basically means the same item but more expensive.

I understand that costs go up, but on the same day they're telling me that "regulars" get bigger drinks, they're telling me that I have to pay more for the same burger I always order. I've been living here and going to this restaurant for three years, and seeing the same staff who I can talk to by name, so I feel like maybe I'm not the summer crowd they're used to serving?

I think this place gets by on the fact that there isn't much to do on the island unless you go into Atlantic City. And while the food is ok, the drinks and the service are not. As someone who wants to dine and drink out all year long, this place is just disappointing. If you live here and you have no options, I guess you'll get used to it. Otherwise I would suggest you go to St. George's nearby and get a really good burger and a decent drink from people who have always been attentive and kind. Or stay home and make a sandwich. For the price and quality of food, and the complete lack of service, it's not worth wasting your time on...

A group of 5 of us ate at this restaurant shortly after the July 4 holiday. Quite a few things went wrong and the experience was very bad overall. Our food wasn't delivered until 55 minutes after we ordered. Three of the five meals were delivered cold. Two of the beers we ordered came back with the wrong beer. We mentioned this to the waitress and she apologized, but did not offer to bring us the correct beer. No one came to ask about how our meal was going. We had to ask several times for water - but no one came back with water - we had to get the pitcher ourselves. One item was ordered with the expectation of getting fries and coleslaw since it was in a section of the menu where all items came with those two sides. When the meal was delivered, neither item was served. The waiter said he would check - but never came back to say anything about it. When we checked later at the front desk, they explained that particular item was the only item in that section that did not come with those two sides. They admitted there was no mention of that fact in the menu - but somehow we were supposed to figure that out ourselves. In their favor, they did take off the price of the pizza I returned (because it was cold)...

On the advise of friends when we were visiting AC, we went here. They were with us on the trip as well. We showed up at 8pm. Prime rib night and had reservations. They seated us upstairs.

They ran out of prime rib. At 8pm? Frustrating but we understand it happens and that's not my reason for this low review. Our waiver was awful. Service was pathetically slow. They knew we were frustrated with the special running out at 8pm on a Saturday night but when I drink my beer, and have an empty glass for 20+ minutes where we can't find any waiters, let along ours to come back... Bad.

They were not particularly busy either so that can't be used as an excuse. People next to us got seated, served, ate, paid bills and left before we even got our burger entrees. I mean really? Same issue with getting the check.

I'm a guy who starts tips at 20%. And I tip more when I feel the staff is working extra hard. So this place and given all that we witnessed... 50 cent tip with advise to pay more attention to the tables and those upstairs.

We won't be returning. Too bad since we did like...
