So, I’m a self admitted coffee snob. I like good coffee and I cannot lie!!! I live close to the shore in NJ. I would literally drive all the way to Philly for my coffee (I like the ritual of doing so). So I was in Brigantine, NJ the other day and said, “you know what? Let me give this place a try.” Pleasantly surprised I was!!!
So much so that I went back two more times over the past few days. Since I’m a self proclaimed coffee snob (aficionado lol), I like my coffee black and very hot. I only put simple syrup in my coffee. I believe if you have to dress your coffee up with anything more than a little sugar, it’s not good coffee (I’m talking about YOU Starbucks, La Colombe, Dunkin, Wawa, etc). With Summer & Sage, I was at the counter and the lady whom I didn’t know at the time was the owner, gave me IMPECCABLE customer service. She gave me my coffee and asked was it hot enough. I said no and she immediately brewed a fresh pot and gave me piping hot GOOD Coffee! I got my simple syrup and went on about my day.
So instead of going to Philly to get some of my coffee like always, I went back with my daughter the next day. My daughter is young so she committed sacrilege and ordered an ICE COFFEE with all the new agey fixins. I ordered my usual drip black coffee. The guy working behind the counter was super polite and made our order.
The same person who served me a few days prior was there and made a comment about how she appreciated me for coming back. We got to talking about coffee and I learned she was the owner and I praised her (rightfully so) for having amazing coffee and a beautiful shop. I told her I definitely would be recommending this place to everyone I know that drinks coffee and that I would be coming back here instead of going to Philly.
My daughter also LOVED her new agey iced coffee so if that’s your thing, she said it was waaaaayyyyyy better than Starbucks...
Read moreListen. I’ve visited plenty of coffee spots and I can say almost always the experience and quality of the products are pretty decent. But Summer & Sage is something different. The moment you walk in you just feel comfort. At least I did. The staff were welcoming and the latte and French toast muffin I had was out of this world. I only wish I had the option to toast and butter that bad boy. But hey that would make S&S perfect so I may be asking too much. I went back later in the day and tried a strawberry matcha. My first time trying matcha and it did not disappoint. Very fresh and refreshing. I don’t think I’ve been to a shop that makes their own syrups so to me that’s one of the many things that separates them from the rest. When I’m in the AC/Brigantine area it’s a no brainer that I’m stopping by S&S for my morning (and maybe afternoon) coffee fix! Great ambiance as well. They had newspapers. Like real ones lol. Felt nostalgic with my leg crossed reading the paper. Highly...

Went in Monday AM MDW and here was the experience. The employee behind the register was nice and welcoming but that’s where the good times ended. They were sold out of cold brew already by 9am which doesn’t really make sense. Then we ordered basic drinks (iced coffee, iced latte, shaken expresso) with only a few folks in front of us. Waited for 30 mins. and only got 2 of the 3. We actually ended up leaving because of the wait and the crowded started pouring in. Coffee itself tasted fine and pricing was ok too. The thing is though, they need to sort out the service with experienced baristas who know coffee and move quickly or it’s not going to last (like the...
