Wow, this was so good. We spotted the reviews on Google & decided to give it a try on our first evening in Berat. So impressed that we went for lunch the following day. The interior doesn't give it that authentic setting that you get in some of restaurants in the old town tourist area but the food easily overshadows the setting. It's very clean, very friendly service & incredible value. I think we were the only tourists in each time but busy with locals. Took some photos of the food but forgot on some! Highly recommend, well done the team, thank you

If you’re in Berat and want to experience authentic Albanian home-style cooking, Traditional Food Anxhelo is the place to go! Every dish was delicious and made with heart. We ordered the stuffed peppers, oven-baked chicken with a yogurt rice base, a rich musaka, and a fresh salad — all incredibly tasty and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff were so kind and helpful. You can tell this place is run with pride and a love for good food. Highly recommend this gem — it’s one of our favorite meals in Albania!

We ate here both evenings of our stay, and though it is a simple looking place it was some of the best food we have in Albania and the best value too. We would especially recommend the baked vegetable dishes (e.g. aubergine and stuffed pepper), though all of the food was great and very hearty. The red wine was also nicely balanced. The menu is not in English currently, so use google translate to translate the images. Finally, the service was really friendly and one of the waitresses speaks English which also really helps with the menu too.

The real deal - very much a locals only atmosphere but WELCOMING and kind to tourists - the restaurant is large and clean, atmosphere was busy but able to get a table right away, food came quickly and was all delicious - beans and meat is my favourite - and all so generously priced - probably the cheapest meal I had in Albania and we ordered salad, mousaka, veal with garnish (cheese, veg, tatziki), beans and meat and large water bottle and it was 1,500 Lek and we are full!
