We loved this place. I would eat here again when j come back.
The food was delicious, the people working there were very nice and able to answer some questions we had, and it was pretty and comfortable. They only accept cash, but are OK with Lek or Euros. It is set a bit back from the Boulevard Republika, so look for it between a couple of restaurants & bars. It has a bright green sign.
The atmosphere is really cozy and relaxing on the porch. There are a bunch of pet birds in cages that are a unique touch. If you are worried about the cages smelling it being dirty, don’t be. They were very clean. One bird was kind of noisy, so we switched from the table on the right (facing the restaurant) to the seat on the left.
We had the lamb ribs, llukanik sausage (beef sausage), qofte furre me salce (baked meat balls with sauce), stuffed peppers) and tzatziki. All of the dishes were very good. We ended with walnut rail, which is flavourful and I would say sweet like an amaro. We tried to get the goat ribs but they were out that night, so we had lamb instead. For the sausage we were asked if we wanted spicy or mild. We chose spicy. Do NOT be afraid of the spicy. It was not very hot.
The bonus was that one of the employees came out and spoke to us for about 20 minutes wholes we sipped our raki. He was a very nice young man. I feel like we were able to learn more about Albanian living from him. We really enjoyed the chat.
What else? They have a TV which they turned on so we could watch football (soccer) and they...

We ordered a lot and it came to LEK 2,490: 2x red wine Mixed salad - beautiful olives with mixed leaves, onion and tomato served Italian style to be dressed on the table Baked cheese - Albanian farmers cheese (most similar in texture to cottage cheese but much tastier like feta) Aubergine casserole - best thing, one of the nicest aubergine dishes I have ever tasted 2x homemade meatballs - nice, similar in shape to burgers, a bit over seasoned for my preference 2x spicy sausage - delicious, outer edge is chewy, processed/cured tasting Bread - soft, a bit yellow in colour, good crust Large water - mineral, glass bottle 2x espresso - excellent Tri Lece dessert - very indulgent, sweet and creamy. We shared one between us. Light sponge cake soaked in a sweetened (possibly condensed?) milk and topped with a sweet sauce similar to treacle.
Reji was very friendly and the younger waiting staff member whose name I didn't catch.
Beautiful decor and plants. We came for an early dinner after a long day of travel. A nice level of noise, not too loud or too quiet.
We speak English and they were able to accommodate that very well.
Thank you for a wonderful start to our...
Read moreHighly-recommended to visit this restaurant, if you also look for traditional Albanian food! My husband and I ordered different stew dishes: imam ballajdi, chicken breast fërgesë (meat stew with green&red paprika), and tave dehu (beef liver stew), all of them are very tasty! This dinner ends with traditional Albanian dessert - trileçe (three milk), my favorite dessert in Albania! I even ordered a takeaway for another dessert - tiramisu. Love its great atmosphere in the dining area internally (well-decorated and high taste vintages) and externally too (outdoor dining area with roof, great combinations of greens and metal vintages). Both dining areas have TVs able to watch sports. Plus the super nice service. The waiter is amiable and very friendly with cute smiles, he is able to communicate with OK English and use simple descriptions to introduce the menu. We really enjoyed a lot at this restaurant, and will definitely come back again if we stop by Berat next time. Thank you...
