Whenever you talk about visiting the casbah, this is one of the first places you get recommended to go to when there. First of all you need to walk a lot to get there, or you can also go with your car and park not too far. The place itself is quite small with only a few tables, so prepare to sit with other people at the same table when need be. I don't know if the timing was wrong, but a long queue was formed in a short time when I went, so of course we couldn't eat slowly while a bunch of people kept waiting (The half eaten food in the picture is proof since we were hungry and eager to finish). The view, which is endlessly raved about was nice but nothing extraordinary, and you can't even see it when you're seated. Coming to the food itself, it was again good but nothing impressive, while the prices were a bit expensive compared to other places. I recommend ordering different things if you're with others to taste more food. The menue is offered and you get to choose between salads, soups, fries, and seafood. The service was okay.

My verdict: good to go once if you're into trying new things...

Based on my experience, I think this place is way overhyped.

First off, the food is super basic—nothing you couldn't easily make at home. As for the view, you don’t even need to go inside to enjoy it; you can just stand outside the shop and get the exact same view.

What really disappointed me was the time I wasted waiting for my turn. I expected something special, but honestly, it was the opposite. The service was shockingly rude. There’s no menu, so the server has to explain the options, and he literally said, “Listen well because I’m not going to repeat myself.”

On top of all that, the prices are ridiculously high for what you get.

Definitely not worth the hype,...

The perfect place to eat traditional Algiers casbah dishes, sardines and other fishes grilled or with a spicy tomato sauces, you'll appreciate the amazing vu on the Algiers bay in a typical casbah rooftop, a lot of local and international celebrities went through this historical place, the waiter "Yacine" will do his best to make this experience unique. The prices are affordable, an average of 5€ with a salad and...

Traditional Algerian food is a flavorful fusion of Mediterranean often paired with rich stews and vegetables, are staples that showcase the country’s culinary depth. Spices like cumin and coriander add warmth to dishes, while meats such as lamb and chicken are tender and well-seasoned. The variety of flavors and ingredients reflects Algeria’s cultural diversity, making each meal an authentic experience.
