Our experience at Café Del Mar was a mixed bag. We had a pleasant time at the beachside area enjoying drinks and snacks great ambiance and a relaxing vibe. However, the experience significantly declined when we transitioned to the restaurant for a meal.
We ordered the Surf and Turf, and unfortunately, it was a disaster. The food arrived cold, the prawns were clearly in a bad conservation state and seemed to be spoiling, and the meat was overcooked and dry. When I complained about the prawns, they replaced them, but the replacement was no better. All we received was a brief apology for the poor quality of the dish no compensation or attempt to make things right.
While I can’t speak for other dishes, I cannot recommend the restaurant. For the price, the quality was far below expectations.
Additionally, their policy of not allowing people to circulate in the restaurant area without a shirt is inconvenient, given that this is a beachside establishment. The washrooms are located beyond the restaurant, requiring guests to cross the restaurant to access them. I strongly suggest that the management consider adding changing rooms and washrooms closer to the beach, similar to the outdoor showers they already provide.
Overall, stick to the beachside drinks and snacks , they were enjoyable. But the restaurant experience leaves much to be desired and, in my opinion, is not...
Read moreToday was the second time I went to Cafe Del Mar Luanda. It was a company event with pre-selected Xmas food menu and the service was absolutely disappointing! The waiter did not serve the Entradas, after demanded and explained for several times, the Entradas came differently from the Xmas menu, from 3 choices reduced to 2 choices and it was almost felt like we had to beg for it. Apart from that, it was total 14 of us and the waiters was not attentive, the drinks order went all over place, pre-selected orders that was given prior to this evening was all messed up! Asked for tea, the waiter came with selection of teabags and after I chose, that was it, he never came back to me with hot water! ;-) Funny thing was, when I waved at one of the waiter, he even appeared drunk and totally ignored and walked passed in front of me!!! My unforgettable 2021 Xmas dinner at Cafe Del Mar Luanda, which I will never go back...
Read moreThere isn't much I can say about this place that everyone in the world already knows about!! 👍🏼👌🏽🤘🏼😍 Perfect ambience, good food, chill-out music, amazing sunset views and very attentive staff!! 👌🏽👌🏽 Our group didn't realise how the time passed by. I ordered: 01 fresh passion fruit juice (5,000Kwanza) 01 fried cuttlefish starter (7,000kwanza) 01 "Fish of the day" (10,000kwanza) which came along with sauteed vegetables and roasted sweet potatoes, All of the food and beverages were fresh, tasty and price-worthy. The service was impeccable and an added bonus of the staff being fluent in English!! The views are priceless and since the location is remote, there is almost no one on the beach which gives it a pristine look!! 😍👌🏽😎
This Café Del Mar lives upto it's name (I have personally visited other Café Del Mar's in other countries)!!!
Service- 5/5 Good- 5/5 Ambience- 5/5
