From the moment you arrive, the experience at Casa Roots is nothing short of delightful. Greeted by a friendly attendant in the parking area, you are directed to your spot and welcomed along a charming path flanked by gardens, palms, trees, and vibrant orchids. Upon entering the restaurant, the greeting is warm, often by Nadine herself, ensuring a personal touch right from the start. The ambiance is both elegant and inviting, with cozy lounges that allow you to relax and sip on expertly mixed drinks from the bar, boasting a fine selection of spirits. The menu is a testament to culinary diversity, offering a plethora of choices along with a daily specials menu that features unique starters and main courses. I usually opt for the chef’s specials as they often include fresh fish and inventive dishes using the latest market arrivals. Each dish served is a feast for the senses. meticulously plated, perfectly portioned, and bursting with flavors that are a blend of traditional and contemporary techniques. The service at Casa Roots mirrors the quality of the food flawless, with staff who are consistently smiling, attentive, and genuinely kind. Casa Roots is truly a restaurant where value meets quality, and each visit reaffirms my decision to return. It’s a place I’m always delighted to recommend for either lunch or dinner. Till next bite, Luis.

Highly recommend, Sylvain, the head chef and owner was a most gracious host even while short staffed with two of his chefs calling in sick. A great menu with locally sourced seafood and exciting dishes. All the good stuff you would find at the worlds best restaurants but made better by the tasteful interior, friendly staff and amazing location. The dishes are generous, expressive and delicious. We had their tuna tartare, wahoo tartare and lobster salad to start, all were fresh and flavourful with excellent vegetables which are often hard to come by in the Caribbean. We then had the Wahoo special, grilled octopus and curried mussels, all hit the nail on the head, with elevated beautiful presentation and delicious accompaniments. The bar is top notch as well serving high end spirits, done right - the Moscow mule came in a proper cup with fresh ginger and plenty of ice to keep it from melting while we waited for our table on their complimentary loungers 20ft from the main restaurant on runaway beach. A great wine selection rounded off our perfect lunch/afternoon. Merci beaucoup Sylvain, Nadine et Théo - au plaisir de retourner bientôt! -Denis et Christine

Lunch The tuna tartare was on specials board so we tried that. Great sesame flavor, very Japanese. Came with avocado, radish and edamame. Creole fish croquettes were fried balls that had a crab cake texture. The sauce paired well with it. The grilled octopus had a good crisp on the side that touched the grill and the fat of the suckers was rendered perfectly. Mashed potatoes that came with it were creamy and delicious. They were out of mahi-mahi, but replaced it with soy glazed amberjack which was tender and the glaze wasn’t too overpowering. As far as cocktails go, I think the painkiller was one of the best painkillers I’ve had. It was not frozen which is a plus for my tastes. Dinner Some items we liked were lobster salad, seafood paella, veggie velvet soup with onion samosas. The samosas had more of a phyllo crust, which was nice. Beach Bar The beach bar is nice if you want to lounge on the beach, do a little swimming, and have a nice drink. I would save dining for the inside menu as that menu just has better options.

Everything was delicious (why did I start off with the food? 😄) First of all, the tropical tree-lined entryway was eh-va-reee-thang. Seeing where they grow their own lettuce and greens informed me that I was in for a treat. Loved that. Once we set foot in the restaurant, we were greeted by a young lady with the most radiant and warm smile.

Once we were seated, the amazing and lovely Sapphire came right over and introduced herself upon welcoming us. She made the evening a top-tier experience (give that young lady a spot bonus!). Her demeanor, knowledge of the menu items, and overall pleasantness suited the atmosphere well. She shared with us the specials and gave us ample time to review the menu, which did not disappoint.

All the options were awesome. A wide array for all food preferences. Steak lovers, seafood lovers, chicken lovers, vegetarians, vegans, there is something for everyone. The butternut squash and coconut soup was a whole 5/5 stars. The spicy chicken thighs with a side of lentils was delightful. Hubby had the beet salad and then a steak and we shared the spinach and feta spring rolls. YUMMY!

The Coconut Crush was epic and I'm very picky about my crushes. The Battender hooked that upppp.

The soft lights were complimentary to the ambiance and hearing the ocean in the background was the perfect soundtrack to our dining experience.

My dear friends introduced me to this establishment in January and I brought my in-laws for dinner last night because I know it would not disappoint. I shall be back and will dine there every single time I come home for a visit.

Continued success...

We had been really impressed with the delicious food and wonderful service at Casa Roots on a previous visit, so we chose to dine there on the last evening of our holiday. While most of the food was as delicious as usual, the lobster was a real disappointment. Perhaps my expectations were too high since the food is generally amazing, but this lobster was so tough and rubbery that I couldn't cut it without a serrated knife.

The flavour also fell short—I was expecting it to be dressed with some sort of sauce to enhance the dish, but instead, it was completely dry. What disappointed me even more was that when I finally plucked up the courage to mention that I wasn’t happy with the dish (as I’m not usually one to complain in a restaurant), the kitchen acknowledged that my lobster was over-grilled but didn’t offer any small gesture as compensation. Given that the lobster is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, I found this a bit unfair—extra care should be taken to ensure it is well-executed.

Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste—quite literally—on our final evening. That said, most of the other dishes at Casa Roots are well-prepared and worth trying. I just wish the lobster had lived up to their usual high standards. I would give a 5 star rating for their other dishes and the usual lovely service, but I didn't appreciate that our feedback wasn't taken into consideration when voiced this evening, hence the 4...

This was an absolutely horrible experience I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone Firstly we arrived at 12 for a 1 PM lunch reservation that I made that same morning . The young lady did not have the reservation and was actually very rude about it versus trying to sort out their error . We proceeded anyway to go ahead and stay we went down to the beach to relax have drinks and then order food After asking permission we moved some of the lounge chairs to a shaded area we had already ordered drinks before we walked out to the beach. The owner of the restaurant proceeded to come extremely aggressively out to beach and demand we not move his chairs as they are for his guest. Even after explaining we were guests and we asked permission to move charis he was extremely aggressive and extremely rude to us We were a party of 8 people coming to spend the day buy drinks and buy food at your establishment due to his horrible behaviour we chose to leave we went down to Syboney beach club where we did not have a reservation However they bent over backwards to accommodate us We had an amazing day we rented cabanas the drinks and food were amazing and the service was top notch As a local that frequents the establishments here I will never go to Casa Roots again not will I recommend this establishment to any of my numerous overseas clients that come on island absolutely horrible...
