We went to the bar the first day we arrived on the island and had delicious small plates (pictures of bar food) and great drinks! Their Rum Punch and Margarita were both super tasty. A few days later we went back for dinner because we were just being lazy and it’s convenient. The waitress was friendly and the place was packed, she was hustling and definitely could have used some help. Once She made her way to our table we placed our dinner order as well as a rum punch and margarita. We received our TINY Muscle appetizer that lacked any flavor. After our app we still didn’t have our cocktails. We both agreed if we didn’t have our drinks before we received our dinner we were canceling the drinks. Unfortunately we never received the drinks, so we canceled them. The entrees were ehhh. I ordered shrimp curry. It came on a plate with 6 small shrimp, white rice and lettuce with no dressing. It was bland and very disappointing to say the least especially for the price. My husbands Mahi dish sauce was bizarre. He was told it was risotto but it was rice topped with a chunk of melted cheese in a flavorless sauce. This is not a dinner restaurant I would recommend. Either stick to the bar menu or...

Hello! I have been visiting Salt Plage for years!!!! I was a faithful patron on every visit to Antigua even before Startish was constructed.

In full transparency, I had given up on the place. I kept returning because of the stunning views, but service and food quality had been on a decline. I relied, heavily, on Stacy-Ann to make the experience and she also never failed me. Thank you to her!

Today, I parked with a guest and said a prayer asking that I not be met with any nonsense. To my surprise, I was greeted by a man named Christopher who was so enthusiastic, but had to let me know that I had missed breakfast. I was disappointed, but he did not allow me to leave that way. Christopher shared that Starfish would open in a few minutes and encouraged me to stay. Rather than me waste time looking for somewhere else to eat, he suggested having a mimosa and enjoying the view. I watched him for 30 minutes as he anticipated guests needs, knelt down at tables to check in with guests and hustled to greet even arriving staff.

I don’t know who is responsible for hiring him, but you have done a GREAT JOB!

Thank you! I will be back and fully trust that I will have a...

Beautiful View, But That’s About It

I recently dined at this beachfront restaurant, drawn in by the stunning ocean views. Unfortunately, the experience beyond the scenery was disappointing.

First, the portion sizes were incredibly small. For the price, I expected something more substantial, but what I received felt more like an appetizer than a proper meal. To make matters worse, the service was painfully slow—I waited 45 minutes for my main course, and all I ordered was a simple salad! It’s frustrating to have to wait that long, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even particularly busy.

The staff also lacked warmth and attentiveness. There was no sense of urgency or hospitality, and requests felt like an inconvenience to them. The overall atmosphere was unwelcoming, which took away from what could have been a relaxing dining experience.

The only redeeming factor was the beautiful beachfront setting, but that alone doesn’t justify the poor service and underwhelming food. If you’re just looking for a drink with a view, it might be worth a visit. Otherwise, I’d recommend finding another spot where your time and money are...

We stayed at Siboney beach club and so ate here for dinner and a couple of breakfasts. The dinner was mixed quality. The seafood fettuchini was good, the coconut crumbed mahimahi was fine and the vegetarian portobello mushroom was not good. We decided not to eat lunch or dinner there the next day. A MUCH better option is casa roots a short walk away, seriously mega good in every way and basically the same price. For breakfast the Antiguan breakfast was pretty good, the salt cod was tasty and well balanced if a bit oily. The eggs royale was competent, but a bit small. The filter coffee is fine. The service was ok, a bit better for dinner than breakfast, but it all runs on pretty relaxed Island time, people aren't very attentive but not neglectful either. The location is beachfront and great.

We visited here 26th November 2021 for breakfast while staying at the Buccaneer Beach Club next door. Initially we didn't realise we were at the wrong entrance/exit, so stood about for a bit waiting to be shown to a table, before deciding we'd just sit ourselves down at a table right next to the beach. The view was beautiful! We were quickly given a menu with plenty of choices, but both ordered omelettes which were really good. I had passion fruit juice while my husband had apple juice, a coffee, then a beer! We had a lovely, leisurely breakfast with great food, a great view and good service. We'll be back, as there's lots more on the menu we'd love to try!
