Horrible service and mediocre food. We arrived at noon and sat at a table with dirty dishes. It took the waitress 10 minutes to remove the dirty dishes and bring menus, meanwhile the manager stood at the door with his biceps and never thought to deliver the menus he held in his hands, or help clear a table or the waitstaff. We asked for bottled water as it was 30 degrees. Five minutes later the waitress returned without the water to take our order. We were told the items we wanted were unavailable as they stopped serving breakfast at noon. We said we were there before noon. (They could have removed the breakfast menu from the menus they delivered, or at least said that menu was no longer available.) They said we had to order from the brunch menu which was about 2000 pesos more expensive than the same item on the breakfast menu. We ordered and again asked for the water: Ten minutes later we called the waiter and asked again for water and we were told they would bring it out with our food. We said we were thirsty now and wanted the water. The hamburger was dry. The waitstaff will pass by a table with dirty dishes and don’t have the intelligence to figure out that while they are there they could pick up dirty dishes or do something to provide good service. Horrible experience. I have never not tipped at a restaurant. I could not in good conscience tip at Malvon because it was the worst service I’ve ever received. The management and staff need to be...
Read morea bit overrated. It's a good place to buy bread to go. As a restaurant, they have well-designed dishes but poorly executed. We have gone twice. The first time we were disappointed, but given the reviews we decided to give it a second chance 6 months later. Everything as written on the menu sounds delicious, but then a simple dish like scrambled eggs comes out wet with under-cooked bacon. I had a meatball sandwich, the meatballs and vegetables were excellent, fresh, and flavorful. The bread (supposed to be focaccia) was hard like a rock, probably stale that had been reheated or toasted at low heat where it over-dried. Too bad :(
I'll try it again in a few months and see if they improved. Sometimes restaurants have a great chef design the menu, but don't get good cooks...
