This meal was simply unbelievable. Across the board, there was not a single issue with the food, the service, or the atmosphere. I'll cherish this one in my top 10 for a while.
I first was mesmerized by the space, inside of what feels like a large old house/hotel, similar to the Elysian Bar in New Orleans. The menu was modest with just a dozen items to select from, many of which were vegetarian/vegan. For 1 person they recommended 2-3 small plates and 1 large plate. I ended up ordering I think 6 small plates and 1 large plate. I started with what I remember as a strawberry daquiri type drink that to me was just okay. It was good but not WOAH. 8/10. I later had the a peach variation that was phenomenal. 10/10. For small plates, I began with the bread and vinegar butter. The combination intrigued me and I was not disappointed. This dish set the cadence for the whole meal. It was so good. It took everything inside my soul not to lick the butter off the plate... oh. It was too good. 15 out of 10. The bread was so light and airy and greasy and GOOD. Whew 😮💨 So good. Next I had the venison tartare as it was recommended on the Michelin guide. Ooooooohhhhhhh with the black garlic dust on top. I don’t know what type of degree you need to ideate this kind of food. 20 out of 10. I chewed that up so fast. But next came the star of the show. I wanted to try the lion’s mane mushroom small plate but they were all out. Instead the waiter, Mauro, who was so incredibly nice and thoughtful throughout the meal, recommended the panopea instead. It blew my mind. In fact, it was so good, I ordered another one. 1000000 out of 10. The combination of chamomile with a little peach and cucumber, with a little tuna tartare down at the bottom for a surprise…. Incredible. Top 5 dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life. After that I had the kiuri (Persian cucumber) with a little elote on top. It was good, 8/10, but it wasn’t my favorite. I probably wouldn’t order it again in favor of trying something new. The final After that I was so full but I simply had to have one of the larger entrees. I ate the the cut of the day which was pork with carrots and I forget what the puree was. The party next to me said it was dry but I promise they had worms in their brain or something cus that pork was really good. It wasn’t amazing but it was not dry. 9 out of 10. I’d be interested to see what other cuts of the day entail. For dessert I needed something citrusy and cold and fruity. Mauro knew the perfect dish. He brought me this concoction of frozen melons, coconut, jellies, ooooh so many little accessories. It was perfect. 20 out of 10. I believe I finished with a glass of wine that the sommelier recommend, very crisp, and very friendly. A nice close to the evening. I paid and I left.
Phenomenal meal, beautiful setting, friendly staff. This is the first place I would...
Read moreAs a mention, michelin, our expectations were high. The welcome was ok . First impression the chairs are too low for the table. But it's just the beginning. They leave us the menu with a small overview of how to order and the correct way and sizes or the dishes . We were reading the menues and they come after 1 minute to take the order . Even they saw that we were reading the menu. After another minute, another waitress came again to take the order. The overall impression were ' we need to feed up fast and go '. Such a bad feeling of hurry up, please. Nevertheless, we continued our experience . We asked for the somelier for a wine advice over our dishes selection . Again, not experienced at all, and even though we decided to test 2 different wines, she brought only one, and we needed to ask her to bring the other one. We received as an answer a bad face of the somelier. We order 3 starters and 2 main courses. Food was served correctly, and it was good-looking . About the food we received as is usual on this kind of restaurant and introduction with the idea of the chef over the dish but again lack of experience of the waitress repeating like a computer without thinking , fast and go. About the taste, it was good but not over a standard restaurant, and for the price, it looks, in our opinion, an overvalued experience. One exception over the food that was different and perfect, the dessert that was an ice cream of goat cheese, was superb.
To sum up an overvalued restaurant, as is happening over the last time by Michelin Guide on Argentina, trying to be but not reaching the goal . Not experienced service , food normal , place nothing...
Read moreIf you enjoy eating well in a beautiful setting while being treated with extreme courtesy - I can’t think of a better place to recommend!
We don’t get why this isn’t 5 stars!! All of the people leaving unflattering reviews are misguided fools who don’t understand the great opp to eat at a mechelin restaurant like this one. Or, are upset over some silly line like a 2000 peso water charge. Our experience - I would synosize their approach to meals quality over quantity. That said for 2 of us we ordered a total 4 selections but took most of 4th home with us, since it was too much food.If you’re looking to goarge yourself go find a buffet. Also, we can’t under state how friendly and helpful the entire staff was. Our waitress Paula was beyond attentive, dare we say almost too nice and accommodating.
Now for the food - we can best describe it as a Gastronomic transcendence! (No I am not engaging in a hyperbole)
We even ordered the lasagna, which we normally don’t like. Not in this case - this lasagna was so masterful and inventive I can’t give it a high enough review. We would say this about all dishes we had, especially the prawn dish (pictured). Absolute epicurean highlight of our entire time in BA (multiple weeks).
Please don’t be swayed by negative reviews from people who clearly have...
