Right, we went for a small lunch. Came out needing to be driven home. This will be your last stop of the day, trust me you don't want to do anything afterwards! It's a tasting menu, seven wines. Seven generous wines! The restaurant was fab and having a good fire added to the atmosphere. It was busy but the tempo was just right. Having the excellent chef at the open fire preparing it all was an added bonus, the smells were amazing! The service and knowledge was very good as was the English spoken. The wines we're all from their own house, they were very good. Do ask them about exporting, easier than you think! Now the food ..... I've posted pics but OMG it was superb. I have the lamb, the size of the lamb and bone was like a tomohak steak. It was huge but the taste was out of this world. It melted in the mouth. Don't think this is a quick lunch, as I said we did and ended up there for 3hours +. But we were not complaining. At no time do they rush you! They appreciate you enjoying their hospitality. You are a little spoiled for choice in the Uco but if you see here or are near you won't be disappointed, you may need a long siesta afterwards but you won't be...

As a sommelier, it's easy to fall for Bodega Gimenez-Riili and their 100 year history. Today, they produce exceptionally elegant, vibrant, and balanced wines, showcasing site-specific wines.
Try to track down their GRAN FAMILIA wines (Syrah or their old-vine single vineyard Malbec from Altamira). They also produce one of Argentina's most complex versions of Torrontes (not typically known for complexity) and a great Cabernet Franc.

Read moreMarvelous place. We went for lunch with a wine tour, which is very short since it is a boutique Bodega and produces very limited wine bottles, they even count their yearly production in bottles and not liters. The story of the 2 families: Gomenez and Riili is great. All the staff were extremly friendly and provided an exclusive service to us. We had a beautifully prepared table under a tree and close to the grill. The wine is fantastic, we had Gran Malbec, Blends and more. Food was great and desert also. The surroundings are filled with chinchila running around. We bought several bottles from the win maker wines, Bonarda and Gran Malbec. We loved the experiece so much that we came back for dinner in the inside restaurant and they even cooked pasta for us, which was not in the regular visits menu. These kinds of places are for people looking to be away from the huge 5Million L/year bodegas, with big restaurants and 1h tours. If you are looking for a silent, private and cozy...
