Praga Marisquería — Restaurant in Mendoza

My partner and I arrived tired in Mendoza and I was looking for a nice atmosphere without blaring music to have dinner. Of course we had to wait until 8pm until most restaurants reopen for dinner at the Argentine time. We took a break from all the red meat and ordered the trout and the sole. My partner is lactose intolerant so we special ordered the trout grilled without the cream sauce. I ordered a poached sole with a lemon caper sauce. Both came with boiled cubed potatoes that were a yummy accompaniment. The trout and some were perfectly cooked but I preferred the trout as it had more flavour being grilled. The house white wine was wonderful. Service was super friendly, super helpful so we tipped well. There was no Coperto ( service charge per person ). Nice soft jazzy music in the background unlike the barrage of music from the bars on the main restaurant strip a block or two away. They have an extensive wine cellar and had we more time I would have spent an entire evening there sampling some of the more interesting wines. Fuimos a despedir el año entre amigos, la elección del lugar resultó óptima. El restaurante está ubicado en un lugar muy tranquilo de la ciudad de Mendoza frente a una bella plazoleta. Es una casona de muchos años y excelentemente ambientada, con muchos elementos antiguos, atractivos cuadros que hacen de éste un lugar muy acogedor y disfrutable. Estamos hablando de un lugar ideal para disfrutar en familia, con amigos, una cita romántica o una celebración especial. Dicho esto la carta de comidas es variada con prevalencia de pescados y mariscos. Está atendido por su dueño, muy afable, al igual que sus colaboradores siempre sonrientes y dispuestos a hacer muy placentera nuestra estancia. Nuestra solicitud de platos fue muy variada, desde congrio margarita, lenguado con alcaparras, paella y cazuela, al decir de todos quienes disfrutamos, estaban realizados con gran maestría. En definitiva una explosión de color y sabor en cada plato. Complementa una buena y variada carta de tragos y vinos para amenizar y buenos postres para cerrar una hermosa noche.
