The hostel was booked for us by a tour company - I regret not shopping around. This place is a restaurant, with some rooms at the back. The guests paying to stay are not the priority, they are an inconvenience. ||||We arrived in the afternoon and got to the room to hear the most horrendous drilling, hammering etc coming from upstairs. It was right above us so it was loud enough to sound like it was actually in our room. We didn't complain though, as it was the middle of the day and we were going out for a walk anyway. That night, there was a different kind of noise, coming from the 'show' in the restaurant. Again, that was ok as we don't like to go to bed too early - we went out to dinner (at a far nicer place than this) and then came back late. ||||In the morning though, at 8:30am on the dot, the workmen were back and the hammering, drilling etc started again. It was SO loud again I could not believe it. I went out to speak with the owner about the noise, and she just said "yes, 8:30 is the time they start" and walked off! She is so unfriendly and has no idea of even basic customer service. The noise in our bathroom was even louder and I couldn't go in there to shower as the hammering was right above the shower head. My companion went out again and spoke to the owner and she eventually asked the workmen to temporarily stop so we could at least use our bathroom. There was no chance of even staying in the room though, it was so loud we had to leave, even though our tour was not due to pick us up for several more hours.||||The whole point of staying in Purmamarca is to get out of the city and relax, but the owner believes she can force her guests to stay up late and get up early by making unbearable noise. Not only was she rude but the whole place was dirty, and the breakfast was awful. Not even worth half of what we paid. Do yourself a favour and stay...
Read moreWe booked a tour for 2 days in Purmamarca and Humahuaca and surroundings and we had to stay for the night in Purmamarca. Since we were so last minute the only place that seemed to be available was here. We were already a bit scared because of the bad reviews but we still went. When we arrived, the owner already looked at us with a sour face. Since there was only one room left for 5 and we were only with three we said we'd book the whole room and pay the extra amount since we were carrying a lot of cash with us. But when we arrived she said this wasn't true and she was lying to us all the time. When she noticed we saw through her lies she started insulting us by saying we should go back to our countries etc. At that point I got so mad I just left, but my mum and my stepfather were still there. Afterwards I think she felt a bit guilty and she called someone she knew and so we could stay there. At least one decent thing she did. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone since I saw on the reviews these things happened more often. One other remark: this place is a restaurant with peña shows so at night there might be a lot of noise. If you find something else, go there. Because el rincon de claudia is not really a place where you can check in at ease and have a...
