La Picadita — Restaurant in Municipio de Tilcara

Found the place, hard to find it by street number but worth the effort. Staff extra attentive m, fantastic sou chef at tables service. The girl serving was so polite. The food was well presented, exquisite, in a fantastic patio with a cool decor, suitable for the town of tilcara. Had local wine, beef with a local purple potato pure and a chocolate mouse with a home made ginger hot marmalade and lemon sorbet plus a whiskey shot to blend it all together. The crème broule was spoilt coz they had no burner but as we commented on it, they did not charge us. Well done! I recommend it. good food and great service. They serve a little appetizer of bread and a sauce that was delicious and will vale you gluten free bread of you ask! The restaurant is in an old house so has different rooms to sit in which was cool. I tried the curry potatoes, which are very big so beware you might not be hungry for your meal after! They actually werent my favorite, the curry taste wasnt very strong and i felt the potatoes were a little undercooked. The ensalada de ojas verdes was large and delicious and we also loved the pastel de llama. The pumpkin soup was okay and i wouldnt recommend the arañita. Sometimes you are positively surprised with the food and service in a restaurant. Well, that was not the case here. I had to wait around 30 minutes for someone to come taking my order, but since nobody has shown up I went to the kitchen to order myself. Servers we’re talking to each other, one of them was eating and I almost felt bad to bother them. Apart from my table there were only 2 other tables with customers. I’ve had a Pastel de Llama which was good, but not great and a local beer, which was very good.
