A friend recommended this place, so I decided to book two nights. When I called, I was told that only one deluxe room was left at 30,000 AMD per night. I thought it might be worth the price and confirmed the booking.
At first glance, the hotel has a certain charm, resembling houses often used in Hollywood films. However, once inside the room, the flaws became evident. There was an exposed outlet on the wall that looked like a fire hazard, and there was writing on the wall in Russian—which I had to translate with my phone to understand.
At around 7:00 PM, very loud and unpleasant music started playing. We were on the second floor, and the noise was overwhelming. When I asked the manager about it, the response was that the music would stop during breaks and that we could “relax then.” This was an extremely unprofessional answer.
Breakfast the next morning was another disappointment. It fell far short of a standard continental breakfast. The coffee was cold, and when I asked, the staff simply said the machine wasn’t working properly. Unfortunately, the next evening we had to endure the same loud music again. On the second morning, we skipped breakfast entirely and packed to leave.
To make matters worse, as we were loading our car, the receptionist came outside accusing us of not paying—despite our clear intention to settle the bill. I explained I would pay after placing our bags in the car, but the interaction felt rude and unprofessional.
Overall, this hotel is not worth the 30,000 AMD nightly rate—frankly, it isn’t even worth 3,000. Gyumri has many other quality hotels to choose from. I strongly recommend avoiding Kum Kuma Hotel. Chinese instruction, taking a shower will flood the bathroom, The air-condition is stuck at those numbers...
Read moreTerrible service. It took them 25 mins to bring us a simple salad. And it took them 40 mins to bring me my hot dish. I sat, staring at my meal and waiting for them to bring my husband's order too, because, you know, it's weird when one of you has food and the other one is still waiting. After another 17 mins they brought my husband's meal, and mine had already gone cold. Overall, it took them 60 mins to bring us our meals. When I asked the waiter how long it usually takes to bring the meals, he said: 20-25 mins. When I said we'd waited for 1 hour, he gave me the most absurd answer: you know you're not the only ones here, there are other customers too. I mean, seriously? o.O And the restaurant wasn't even that crowded. The meals were average, nothing special. A bit pricey for the quality. And there were a lot of screaming kids, so be ready to hear them cry, wail, and run amok. Wish the staff would ask the parents to watch after their children. Won't be visiting ever again, no...
Read moreWe liked the restaurant very much and it was one of the few places we could eat and enjoy food in Gyumri. Orders were delivered on time, food was delicious and well cooked, everything was clean. Overall we tried Khalagyosh, Tatarboraki with Ghavurma, lentils soup with beef, blghour with lamb and loshik - pepperoni and were happy with every order. Everything was clean and the most important for me is that restaurant didn't smell food, ventilation was super good, which you don't see very often in restaurants all over world😊 Thank you, recommended place to eat in Gyumri and we will be back...
