Went here for a Saturday breakfast. Staff were initially friendly, I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon and capers, and asked if the price would go down if I didn't want the egg and avocado as well, they assured me it would. According to the prices of the sides when ordered separately this would take it down by $6. I asked for confirmation, and, again they agreed. I was really happy. When my meal arrived I was upset to realise that the cream cheese also had chives and onion mixed through. I am intolerant to onion, and usually always make this known, but as it was not specified in the menu, it escaped my mind, and I simply forgot to mention it. I took it up to explain, and the staff member was immediately rude towards me, saying I should have told them before I ordered, and that just because it doesn't say it in the menu doesn't mean it's not going to be in there. I tried to explain and apologise but he showed no commiseration, and cut me off. He took my plate away anyway, mumbling that he would see if they could fix it. I then had another member approach and say they could remake it with sour cream instead. I was quite embarrassed by this point, as I don't like sour cream. It is VERY different to the cream cheese that is a normal companion to smoked salmon. I apologised again and said if they cannot do it with the cream cheese I would like to change my order. The waiter half rolled his eyes, and walked off with no confirmation of my new order. I had to call him back to see if that was okay or not. He half turned toward me to confirm, but did not stop. After our food was brought, we were not approached for the rest of our stay, even though it is table service and we had been there for over an hour. At the end after we had paid, I realised that I was charged much more than what I had eaten (the new order was $10). I asked about what I had been charged for, and the first waiter pushed his arm in front of the waitress serving us and pointed aggressively at a menu saying "it says you have to inform staff of any allergies, so we have charged you the price of the bagel". I was so embarrassed and shocked, that I walked out. I added the prices and they had charged me $14 for the bagel instead of the $12 agreed upon. After encouragement, I again went back in to ask, but was immediately turned away again when he refused to say more than the bagel was $14. I am not the kind of person to make a fuss, or stamp my feet. I work in hospitality myself, and I understand that there are some difficult customers around, but I was not one of these. I am polite, shy, and very conscientious. I was made to feel humiliated and ostracized, for something that was really no one's fault. I have never had to face so much hostility in the service industry. I had hope to be able to bring more of my friends and family here, but I will never recommend this...

Having read the previous reviews for this cafe was expecting more. Coffee good, not amazing but good. Was not as strong as it should have been for a standard cup size. Alt milk and decaf expect to pay an extra $1.70. Was wanting the eggs benny but decided against it seeing it was a crazy $28. Got eggs on toast plus avo. Unimpressive meal as you can see in the picture. Could have done with better home made bread or seasoning or even a relish. My husband ordered a full breakfast but was still average. Staff generally nice, one girl was abit aloof but the main lady that served our coffee was very nice. I'm sure some of their other dishes are much nicer but some of the prices are getting abit high. I know cost of living is going up but $28 for Eggs Benny is a bit steep. Hopefully next time we visit will be...

Came here for breakfast the other morning and was pretty excited considering I've been coming here for coffee for a a while but i have to unfortunately say it was very disappointing. I ordered the smashed avo that said it was available as a vegan option as it came with poached eggs for around 19 dollars. When it came out it literally had 2 pieces of dry bread and avocado with a handful of coriander the worst part is they charged the same. Very disappointing maybe remove the fact that it is a vegan option if you are not willing to add extra toppings such as tomato, mushroom or spinach which is in other meals on your menu it's unacceptable. On the plus side the coffee was good so it wasn't a total waste. I hate to give bad review's but it is honest feedback. Don't waste your time or money...

Devour was nominated for a work meeting in the Richmond area and I was pleasantly surprised. Initially we were just there for coffee but on sighting some of the dishes being delivered, I changed my mind! Ordered the avocado on toast (an easily comparable staple) and it was marvellous: the eggs were perfectly cooked, the toast was separate (not soggy), the chilli oil, shallots and coriander made it irresistible. Conversation had to slow down significantly while the meal was enjoyed. Had a standard cappucino on the side and it was solid but by no means outstanding. Cafe itself is medium sized and at lunch was packed with young mothers and their babies. You would be happy to have this as your local if you lived in the area.

Improved since my last visit. Good table service and the food was well presented and delicious. Great to see this huge difference especially in service. ==================== A very underwhelming experience. Went there with the intention of buying lunch but the staff member who "served" me was so indifferent and unhelpful that I had juice and a cookie. Juice was watery, cookie was rock hard. No glasses on the tables for water and the bottle was nearly empty which went unnoticed by the same staff member who brought my order out. Table not wiped. It was busy and the food on the table next to me looked okay but I'd rather spend my money where I feel at least welcome. Might try it another day.
