Had an unfortunate attempt at dining here today, stumbled across them during our drive and they were understandably busy due to Easter weekend. Greeted at the door by a man who barked if we were taking away, we said we were happy with dining in or taking away whatever was easiest but just wanted to have a look at the menu. Was told to seat ourselves inside towards the back and someone would be with us. We sat and decided what we wanted for about 10-15 minutes without so much as being offered water or coffee. Was confused if we were to go up when another table came down and sat next to us and was immediately served water, so we thought maybe we misheard and had to go up to order which was fine. My partner went up to order, and was then told to sit down and someone would be with us, as someone is taking the table next to us’ order. Presumably the owner, came to take our order - after ordering a mango porridge and butterfly bagel I’m told “no that’s a kids item”, I attempt to explain to him that I’m ordering multiple things and no where else on the menu do they offer the crispy chicken with a bagel so I just wanted to try it, was happy to pay extra, and also that my partner was going to be ordering his own main meal on top of this. Instead he kept interrupting me, repeating ‘no’ ‘it’s a kids item’ in a rude tone. Both of us come from a hospitality background, and there’s nothing worse than a place being ruined by bad service when the coffee and food could have been really good? Maybe state on your menu it’s only sold for kids, otherwise you should be factoring in enough for your food costs and labour that you’re still making a profit on kids items that it doesn’t matter who orders them (seniors / people who have come out of surgery etc?). Or maybe just don’t be rude as I’m trying to explain why we wanted to order it, we ended up walking out because I won’t be spoken to in that manner when we were trying so hard to be patient in...

I would like to express my disappointment with the experience I had at Half Cup Cafe during my visit on Christmas Day. While I was looking forward to enjoying a festive meal at your establishment, the service and food quality fell well below expectations.
Our food was initially served to another table by mistake, and it took the waiter nearly five minutes to realize the error. Instead of preparing a fresh dish, the waiter brought the same plate directly to our table. This was highly concerning, as it raised questions about food hygiene and professionalism.
When we tried to address the issue with your staff, we were met with laughter, as if our concerns were a joke. This dismissive behavior was not only unprofessional but also made us feel disrespected as customers.
We requested a replacement for the dish, which was supposed to be pancakes. However, what we received was not pancakes but a fritter shaped like pancakes. Upon questioning, the staff insisted that this was your cafe's version of pancakes, which was both misleading and disappointing.
This experience left a sour impression on what should have been an enjoyable...

We enjoyed our meal here and received the warmest hospitality from Rashed. I have also learnt that Half Cup received in 2023 an environmental award for their outstanding contributions to eco-friendly practices. It doesn't stop there. This initiative is also helping the rural community in Bangladesh to sustain their livelihood and educate their children.
If you haven't been,...
