Fasta Pasta Reynella — Restaurant in Adelaide

Not impressed!

We ordered Fettucine Carbonara and Tortellini Alla Panna, Ravioli Milanese and garlic bread.

The sauces were pretty much identical. There was no cracked pepper in the carbonara. Nor, the silky egg yolk sauce. It was a sloppy white mess drowning in packet like white sauce. I would rate it as one of the worst I've tasted.

The Alla Panna was similarly poor. There were no traditionally used flavourings apparent. It's normally a really tasty dish, full of flavour. Not this time. Just sloppy white sauce.

The Milanese wasn't great either. The sauce was bland and sparse with massive pieces of ravioli occupying the majority of the container.

I've had better heat up meals from the supermarket.

The garlic bread tasted as though it may have collided with a speck of garlic at some point but the flavour just wasnt there.

The restaurant was phoned as the food was verging on inedible. The explanation from the restaurant regarding the difference between Carbonara and Alla Panna was laughable.

According to the restaurant the only difference is the Carbonara has bacon and the Alla Panna has ham. That pretty much sums it up in this instance.

Whilst both Carbonara and Alla Panna could loosely be considered as similar, they are actually distinctly different dishes....normally.

I've been eating at Fasta Pasta since the first restaurant they opened in the city. That used to be great!

Unfortunately, this will be my last meal from Fasta Pasta. Really disappointing effort and quite expensive, also.

Lift your game...

Would not personally recommend this store for your pasta or burger needs. Beach road is the way to go.

We've been going to the Fasta Pasta on Beach road and have gotten delicious food every order. We went to Reynella this time because I wanted to have a burger but Beach road didn't have it on the menu. Big mistake. The burger was a mix of marvellous and gag filled reactions. The cheese, pickles and patty's were perfect but the buns were burnt to a crisp. The smell was sitting in the box the meals came in and made us gag. Not happy with the outcome of the burger. The chips were served cold with no salt and on top of that, not many chips came with the meal. I counted and there were only 24 with about 6 being large and several others not really counting as chips. The fettuccine carbonara was dry and came with a small amount of bacon, roughly 4 pieces to be exact. The spaghetti seemed fine and nothing different to other fasta pastas'. 2.3 out of 5 stars from me. Unfortunately I have given Fasta Pasta too many chances for redemption and the meals seem to get worse everytime. The service and environment here is great, just enough ambient music to keep the mood up but still allow you to hear cross-table conversations. Concierge table service from the door, with all food and drinks brought out to you. The price of the meals are quite reasonable and large portions, however, the quality is just terrible and it isn't an isolated event. On the last particular occasion, my beef ravioli was extremely underdone, bathed in a sauce that tasted like i could make myself from flour and water. It also came with a free hair which was a pleasant bonus... My friends pork belly was so undercooked that it was cold in the centre in addition to the fat still being stringy, it looked like something out of a horror movie, plus the "crackling" was more like a squishy skin coat. All in all, great service, great environment, terrible food. I wont be spending any more money at this place in the...
