I went to Fasta Pasta for lunch on Friday and I was thoroughly disappointed with the service we received. I ordered the Tortellini Zucca, a meal that I’ve ordered multiple times, I’m autistic and I stick with my comfort zones. I received the meal to find after a couple of bites that it was actually so spicy that I couldn’t eat it. I love Indian food and have a decent spice tolerance, however this food was so spicy it was unenjoyable because I couldn’t taste anything else. I went over to what I believe was the manager and mentioned that I cannot eat the pasta because it is so spicy I can’t eat it, and he tells me “well it says it has chilli in it” and I explains yes but I’ve gotten this many times before and it’s never been so spicy. He tells me “well I just don’t think our spice is spicy”, he ends up offering to add cream to tame it. Has the chef add cream and then brings it back in a takeaway container, no apologies, no opportunities for me to taste the food, no nothing. I didn’t appreciate this man talk down to me because I’m a young girl and he’s just thinking “these white girls can’t handle their spice”. When a food is so spicy it outweighs the flavour, you’ve gone too far. Consistency is key and I shouldn’t be getting food that burns my mouth one day and delicious food another. I won’t...
Read moreFasta Pasta Christies Beach- best pizza I have ever had in a restaurant not owned and run by an Italian Family- partner in crime said the Pasta Calabrese was outstanding and excellent value. After we had overeaten, still had enough to take home in a doggy bag for a second meal.. The restaurant was extremely clean neat and tidy, every surface sparkling. Ditto with the kitchen which you can see into. The staff are friendly and welcoming, kind to people with little ones and even pets perched out on the verandah. The prices are half a rival Italian restaurant chain in a near suburb and they also do a $7 lunch meal- extremely economical. Finally, a little thing, but they have bench seating also, much nicer for those with back issues, and also the tables are larger than usual, so it is actually possible to fit in crockery, glasses and etc for four or six ppl and tables with those amount of chairs. Well done lovely staff , Maitre De and Chef. Late edition btw- If you have a seniors card, and if you order a pasta dish you can get a free pasta dish to take away as a bonus...
Read moreReally disappointed tonight. We used to love this place, but over the years it’s really gone down hill! Tonight’s meals were bland and flavourless, we only ate less than half.
Lasagne with no cheese sauce, which tasted like tinned spaghetti. Penne pepino was boring and bland, flavourless. My daughters penne Napoli (kids menu), which is hard to stuff up, was too salty. The only one that liked his meal was my son who will eat anything anyway. The icecream was good, and the garlic bread, but that’s it.
Really sad that we are going to have to take this place of our list of family restaurants we enjoy. I did speak to the waitress, who offered an “oh, I’m sorry! I can put it in a takeaway box for you?”. I was also under the impression that food was fresh here? But it came out so fast that we know that it was just reheated.
Would appreciate a refund of the $70+ dollars that this bland meal cost us! Pretty sure some home brand pasta and cheese would have tasted better than the dishes we got tonight.
It was also uncomfortably warm in there, could have used some fans or...
