Christies Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Adelaide

Never EVER write poor reviews but this NEEDS to be said. Food not great tasting or value for RIDICULOUS WAIT, staff rude, did not respond to feedback, lied and did not offer anything as sorry. Would have given this a 0 star. Not sure these people know what service is? How to run a business or how to make food that is best tasting. Waited 1 hour 15 minutes for a take away that said 25 minutes. I was one of SEVERAL, I just did not complain about it like everyone else. ‘Just a 10-15 min more wait’ and 50 minutes goes by after the initial time expected when their online ordering system said something like ‘checking with kitchen to ensure this is accurate pick up time’. Staff were horrible to people and laughed behind their back and called them ‘old grumpy man’ when others were waiting close to as long. Food was not the best tasting no real flavour and minimal portion sizes for price. People came in AFTER those take away waited sat down and were SERVED AND ATE before the take away got their orders. The reason why people get take away is SO THEY CAN GO QUICKER. So already bad business practices. No sorry or offer for anything after an hour EXTRA wait, and no response to an email sent with concerns. All around would NEVER...

Been meaning to try for a while... Curry Puffs: 6/10 - Decent flavour. Not flakeybois. Fish Cakes: 8/10 - Moist as hell. Nice flavour. Pad Thai: 3/10 - Incredibly soggy, over-soaked noodles. Pad Krapao: 5/10 - Strange take on a Pad Krapao but tasty enough. Needs 3x the Thai basil and a lot more chilli. Green Curry: 2/10 - Sadly the most bland green curry I've ever tasted. No punch whatsoever. The type of curry I would expect to get if I ordered it at a pub. Just a vapid pool of warm coconut milk. Lost half of my chilli flake supply trying to save it. V sad. Value: 9/10 Service: 8/10 - tad slow but very friendly. Overall: 5.9/10 - still probably better than Ampikas so we might give it another crack one day and pray the jungle curry...

I am thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this little Thai restaurant. Located just off beach road and tucked into a small shopping complex, the food and service here really outshine other restaurants in the area. The Thai was authentic, fresh, and very well priced! We had the chicken Pad Thai, chicken Tom Yum, steamed rice, a duck meal (sorry I forgot the name). The Pad Thai was sensational, and the Tom Yum lived up to my high standards (it's a long term favourite of mine). Christie's Thai Cuisine has a beautiful modern style, with almost cafe-like decor.
