Golden Swan Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in Adelaide

Second times the charm right? Sadly not! This is the second time now that we have gone out of our way to order food from this restaurant, when we got home the food was bland, watery and totally gross. I called the restaurant back and explained yet again that the food was not nice at all and nothing that we have had in the past 20 years from this restaurant.. we get told that Diamond swans chef was working that night, hence the food being completely different. This time however, they did give us a refund.. last time they had told us we would get our order replaced when the original chef had returned from annual leave.. after ordering the food again once the original chef had returned they told us that they never promised replace the food and instead would be offering us a “generous 10% off on our order”. This place is going downhill to the point that there is a facebook group conversations with all the complaints of diamond swan, and Golden swans food whilst the Diamond swan chef is in the kitchen. I recommend asking if the Golden Swan chef is working before ordering from this store.

It is worth it in my opinion to continue going back, but if the chef is going to continue to be from a different store there’s no way me or my family will...

13/01/2021 Well I give Dimitri his dues Today he gave ( yes gave ) us 2 soup. Chicken satay entree honey king prawns and Mongolian chicken. It was great thanks Dimitri you have got us back. Thanks for responding to my previous review it's good to see that you are willing to make amends. Keep up the good work ☺️☺️

Well after years of using Golden Swan tonight 9/12/2020 will be our last. A very disappointed meal we had 2 soups that were ok but that was it the satay entree was spicy but no taste, honey king prawns what a joke each was the size of a mandarin but the prawn or should I say shrimp was so small all you tasted was dough. The braised chicken and cashew was mainly frozen carrots and beans yes lots of cashews minimal chicken and absolutely NO TASTE!!!! I'm sure that the cooks are not Chinese or they just DO NOT CARE!!! And at $ 55:50 not even the free prawn chips were sent with the order.

Guess we will have to look for another Chinese probably go to Chef Lamb @...

We have been loyal to this restaurant for many years We understand prices rise As long as we enjoy then it's worth the money However last Saturday we had a delivery 3 fried dim sims that were nice Prawn Chips were somewhat overcooked not all were edible Chicken & chips normally an elastic band to hold lid on container Lucky to have a dozen chips & about 1/2 the normal amount of chicken OK a bit dry but not a good serve. King Prawns with veg & Mushrooms I got 4 Prawns very chewy 2 slices mushrooms 1 bit corn 2 bits Carrots a couple of bit of Cabbage the container was full of been shoots & liquid. It was that bad it went into the bin. $45 was discussing price for very little food. I repeat had we got good serve as usual & enjoyed no problem It was just discussing. Never will we order again.
