Chunky Bacon, Cheese & Egg $5.80

Yesterday I continued further north till I got to Elizabeth South and went to TP Bakery located inside Elizabeth South Shops. As it was still breakfast I got the chunky bacon, cheese and egg pie. Let's eat. The pie looked good, happy with the presentation for the price. The lid had a nice golden look to it and wasn't too flakey. Couple of small spots needed a touch more maybe if you wanted to be picky but overall the pastry was cooked well. Biting into the pie you encountered the chunky bacon and sure it was chunky, really nice tasting small cubes of bacon none of this diced stuff ! The mince and the flavouring of cheese and egg (cracked into the mince) was noticeable and I encountered a couple small pieces of kidney - I didn't mind at all, as I ❤️ kidney and it was a welcome surprise and lifted the pie to another flavour level. The serving temp was spot on and the pie held up together fine. This was a pretty decent tasting pie. 100 Philip Hwy, Elizabeth South SA 5112

Unassuming place, no bells or whistles but very very good produce. Highly recommend the chunky pepper pie: good chunks of beef, tasty gravy and pastry. Have been going to this bakery now for years. In our house we adore the curry pie and steak pie ( with the ex tra large piece of steak in every pie) and I love tucking into a pasty.
