1 / 1 What is wrong with this ALH Group? Once again only after 8 months of being at the Hendon Hotel we are losing the Venue Manager Tony. When will this stupidity of moving VM’s stop. He has worked hard in getting this pub moving forward & he’s reward for that is being told we are moving you. Was there any Consultation with Tony prior to this decision being made? Probably Not, just some idiot in Head Office making the decision. This Hotel has just had the AM & 2 Casuals Leave in the last 3-5 weeks & then some Bright Spark decides that the best thing for the Hotel is to move the VM to another Venue. Smart Move! You wonder why you are losing VM’s & AM’s & casual staff it’s because you treat them with No Respect & Years of Service means nothing to you! When Tony came back in July 2023 after the last VM lasted only 8 months (he had been here previously but once again got Moved to another Venue), we asked him how long he was going to be here for. He informed us for at least 3 years & we all Laughed. This Hotel hasn’t had a VM last over 12 months for such a long time, some not even lasting a Month before being moved to another Venue. When will this Group stop having this Revolving Door Policy & let the VM’s remain where they are as they know the Venue, the Cliental & what works & what doesn’t. This Post will probably fall on Deaf Ears & Tony will still be moved after Sunday but maybe it’s about time this Group considered stability for its Employee’s at its Venues & leave the staff there for longer periods rather than the Here Today & Gone...

Popped in to take advantage of a monthly special. After ordering mine and a friends, I expected to pay said price. I approached Liz to discuss to which a cold unpleasant face is looking at me and says it's through the app. I explained i was using the app to which her response was an abrupt answer of it's limited to 1 deal per day. Walked away thinking wow, that's how they treat customers!! My next interaction with Liz was putting keno on to which again couldn't pull a smile or even look happy to be there. All while eating during my transaction and telling her staff to not be on their phone in front of customers. My opinion is she could do with some customer service refreshed skills before business is affected beyond repair We organised to sign up my friend and order their deal, but unfortunately there was an issue on confirmation causing incorrect charge. Luckily young Lia was passing by which meant I avoided interaction with Liz. Lia was a breath of fresh air and her customer service and smile redeemed what was looking like a horrible lunch. Read moreWorst meal ever. Chips were precooked, ice cold & saturated in fat, to the point where they stuck to the plate. Salad looked like it had been on the plate for a month- it was at the point where the cucumber was translucent & you could tie it into a knot, and the lettuce was brown. When I complained- the Manager couldn't have cared less, and replied: 'Well- what do you expect for $6.90...?' I'll tell you what I expect at a minimum, Mr Manager-- and, that is a meal you can actually eat. $6.90 for a turd is still $6.90 wasted. ....he was basically a rude, uninterested individual. Six squid rings for a MAIN COURSE....?? Squid was tough & pre-cooked, so it was also slimy, with no S&P coating. 50 cents for a bread roll (!!) is money well spent- as you will not fill up on the tiny main meals. It is clear this Hotel exists only to feed the pokie addicts of the world, and the meals are a poorly planned afterthought.
