Absolutely terrible!! Worst place ever. Well.. for me anyway. I'm a full-time carer for my mum, and as a treat every now and again I get her the the classic tender crisp burger. Usually from ingle farm or ridgehaven. Both those stores are great. My mum can't eat mayonnaise so I obviously ask for it without, and when I get home I add beetroot as she likes it. Unfortunately I was shopping at Golden grove so I thought I would surprise my mum. Oh how I was wrong. First I'm waiting in the drive through for a very long time. But that's OK.. its a special order. Another car pulls up behind and I'm asked to move to the waiting bay. That's OK. Its a special order. Waiting for 6 minutes after that a girl comes out but I can see order has coffee, so thinking not mine. She asks if it's my order I reply no. No one else is in waiting bay so she starts wondering through the car park to find the mystery person who has this order. (Not my order) finally she finds the mystery person. Thank goodness... the suspense was killing me... when she finally walks past my car, I ask her if she knows when my order is coming as been waiting a while. She responds pleasantly it's on its way. Less than one minute later my order arrives.. I check it as I always do as my mum can't have mayonnaise.. OK. Food is stone-cold, meat is hard as a rock, and guess what.....you guessed right it had mayonnaise. Surprise surprise.. so I had no choice but to go in the store. Maybe they should get rid of drive through at golden grove. I asked the girl serving at the counter if she could check my order. After a couple of minutes she finally responded with what my order was. But when i said I ordered it with no mayonnaise, she told me I was wrong. I said to her that I always order with no mayonnaise. But let's just say I'm wrong as she quite blatantly told me so. What about the burger being stone-cold and the chicken patty as hard as a rock, and also my ridiculous waiting time? She had no answer. I had a knew one made. No mayonnaise and it took under a minute. ????????? HOW???? And still it was terrible. Ended up putting it in the bin and going elsewhere. I'm never going to Golden Grove hungry jacks again. Very poor service. And...
Read moreI have been a regular 'after work' customer on their drive-thru for years - usually coffee's or a frozen drink in hot weather. In the last few years, the service and delays there have become intolerable.
This is the second (and last) time I have lodged a complaint or review of HJs Golden Grove - the drive-through is hopelessly managed and I suggest the whole place is understaffed.
LONG wait times on the drive-through and twice in the last two weeks the first (pay) window was not staffed at all - the first time we had waited from the speaker to the window for over 7 minutes - the vehicle in front of me simply drove forward to the second window and after a brief verbal with staff it drove off. I moved up and was told to go back and drive through the queue again as I had not paid at the first window. I considered it, but having been delayed all that time already and seeing about 6 more cars on that queue I drove away only to notice the car which had been in front of me before had rejoined the queue.
I lodged a complaint on HJ corporate site and was rung back the next day - very apologetic and assured that staff concerned would be 'retrained' in handling customers. So tonight after an over 5 minute wait for the car in front to pickup food I sat at the first window ALL THAT TIME and not one of the staff in the back area came near that window. When first car finally got their food and moved on, I moved up to the second window (by that time there were cars behind me) with my $2 in hand for the frozen coke, to be met by a young teen who very tersely told me off for not waiting at the first window. I explained that no one was there. Her response was to bark at me to read the sign on that window, at which point I was so fed up that I told her to forget it and drove off. Went over to Macca's. Got my drink and out in under 2 minutes.
Learn from this HJ's. train your staff in customer politeness employ the required number of staff use the 'WAITING BAYS' for long orders.

Payment went through as I clicked onto when entering drive through as per time on the receipt 9;20 pm.
They weren't busy however when I got to the speaker box was asked to please hold for a couple of seconds before even trying to notify I had an online order.
5 mins later I get to say my order number and drive to the second window.
When at the second window two staff members where screwing and being playful completely ignoring me.
10 mins at that window with no acknowledgement at all.
Then I got asked to park in waiting bay to which I responded asking for the drinks that they had yet to make.
I was waiting in the waiting bay until I started calling at 9;52 pm finally got thro at 9:55 as the food was coming out.
The manager Sam was extremely rude.
Didn't not once apologise for the over 40 minutes wait time, instead challenged me saying it was only 6 mins.
When I pointed out the fact that was a lie he responded by saying that he was short staff.
That is not my issue and not my problem however there weren't busy at the time and the burgers should not have taken that long whatsoever, I didn't order a veggie or anything like that.
The burgers were cold and poorly made.
