Kako Pizza — Restaurant in Adelaide

Tried two vegan pizzas and one vegan pasta dish. The BBQ meatlovers had some nice faux meats, but the vegan pepperoni was far too spicy and overpowered the rest of the pizza, also too dry. If you're expecting a saucy Domino's style meatlovers (but vegan), you won't get it! But if you like spicy and have your own BBQ sauce at home to add to it, would be better. The Hawaiian also had a spicy faux meat on it, again too dry and overpowered by the spice. Also the cheese is not the best vegan cheese, it's the kind that sits on top and has a bit of a glue-like texture, but not exactly the fault of the pizza place. The creamy pumpkin pasta was the favourite, and while they use coconut cream or milk for the sauce, it didn't taste too strong and blended well, a nice balance of sweet with the pumpkin and sauce and salty/savoury with the cheese on top. Prob would be better with cashew cream though for more neutral cream flavour. Delivery was also a bit of a disaster! Delivery person didn't seem to understand how to pull into a loading zone to deliver so...

There are a few places we go to for takeaway Pizza when we are at a loss for dinner - Kako is an old favourite. Their Pizza is delicious. Soft, fluffy base and exactly the toppings you asked for. They’re also generous with them. We ask for chilli - you actually can taste and see the chilli; anchovies are there if you ask for them. Not cheese predominant as we prefer; fresh tomato sauce taste like it was freshly made. And enough Salami if that’s what you like. The Pizza is fresh tasting and nicely balanced with toppings you asked for, and that you can determine on the base. The base is fluffy and delicious and it’s not too greasy from cheese. They also do really tasty chips, sometimes with a herb sprinkle sometimes without but they’re yummy either way. Prefer the herbed chips though! Not many people do...

This pizza place is definitely worth checking out. The crust hits that ideal balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making each bite satisfying. The toppings felt fresh and generously spread, ensuring you get a full flavor in every slice.

What really stands out is the sauce—rich, tangy, and clearly made with care. The vegancheese melts perfectly, creating a satisfying experience without being overwhelming. The shop has a laid-back atmosphere, and the staff was the best part she was really nice and friendly, i would’ve been back just because she was so nice, but pizza and bread was also great adding to the overall good experience. (I ordered the veganarian meal deal it was great, it would’ve been great if the drive to home wasn’t that long, Next time, I’ll just dine in to enjoy it...
