REVIEW FROM 1st Feb 2021. Well well well, last Monday the MNCC Adelaide chapter officially kicked off 2021... and what a curry 💣 it was. The GANESH CHATURTHI festival of 2020 was back in August, but there was no hint of this tremendous festival ever ending with the VIBES that were dished up at Rasooi - The Traditional Indian Kitchen. Located in Prospect, customers can expect to be greeted with warm smiles mixed in with some melodic, electronic beatz to get the ticker going on arrival. This type of greeting immediately inundated the MNCC with memories of the wild Tharangambadi beach curry parties that we miss dearly. Ganesh would highly approve of such a welcome. Rasooi prides itself on being traditional, and therefore holds the same values as we, the MNCC. The curries that were served were exceptional. As were the velvety naan’s. A full flavoured experience that hit different to the usual ‘safe curry house’ that we have become all too familiar with. The only let down was on the spice front. We wanted Xtra Xtra hot and got nothing but mild, weak on heat flavour sensations. Rendering the salty lassi’s surplus to requirement. Our new nom Patrick was unable to make this meeting, which is quite unfortunate for him as he missed an easy ‘in’ to the club, and will now be punished next meet accordingly. Our latest nom Dom has been given his chance to make it into this prestigious club. Will he pass with flying colours, or bottle it just like Patrick did on Monday? We’ll have to wait and see. Overall, 2021 couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the MNCC. Rasooi provided the perfect thali full of delicious food. The knowledgeable and educational service from the A grade staff was what made this dining experience so special. This high level of service was epitomised in the grand tour of the restaurant, which included the curry jacuzzi, post meal. This one will be a tough one to beat. 4.6 fennel seeds /5 MNCC In Curry We Trust

Overprice without any reason. Bloody Bottled Beers are $12. Not worth at all. Dear Rasooi team I am not sure how to to respond to this but actually I’ve gone through all of your reviews from customers and what I noticed is almost 70% of customers are complaining about your prices. If these many customers felt that your prices are unfairly high so instead of explaining me that which spirit is premium and which is not you should review your prices. We as residents of Adelaide also want that good restaurants should survive. We very well knew the spirits we ordered, we were not having them for the first time. The spirit you are talking about which you guys specially ‘IMPORTED’ from india, you might not aware that you be paying lot of money for those but let me know if you want those indian spirits here in Australia what you got in your menu $40-$60 per bottle, let me know how many you want. Also we know that this not the bottle shop but give me the name of single restaurant who is charging $12 for a bottled beer, even you can get $9 tap beer from any 5 star hotel bar. You should be bit polite and respectful with your customers who provide you a genuine reviews otherwise you can buy as many good reviews in your favour. You know well. Anyways thanks alot for your hospitality. Good Luck👍🏻

Here's a sample review: *5/5 Stars* "Exceptional Dining Experience at Rasooi Restaurant!" I recently visited Rasooi Restaurant and indulged in their Non-Veg Thali, which exceeded my expectations in every way! For $35, the portion size and quality were outstanding. *Non-Veg Thali:* - Deliciously crafted with tender meats and flavorful spices - Variety of dishes, including juicy chicken and veg varieties - Perfect balance of spices, not too mild or overpowering *Lassi:* - Hands down, the BEST lassi I've had in Adelaide! - Creamy, refreshing, and subtly sweet - Complemented the spices in the thali perfectly *Service:* - Friendly and attentive staff - Prompt service, even during peak hours *Ambiance:* - Cozy and inviting atmosphere - Traditional decor added to the dining experience *Value for Money:* - Absolutely worth every dollar! - Generous portion size and exceptional quality If you're craving authentic, mouth-watering Indian cuisine in Adelaide, Rasooi Restaurant is a must-visit! *Recommendation:* Don't miss the Non-Veg Thali and Lassi! *Will I Return?:* Absolutely!

Last night was our first visit since they relocated and renovated. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. There are some areas for improvement however, what they lacked was compensated for by their exceptional customer service. The positives are: Cleanliness and hygiene. Excellent customer centric approach Very well trained, groomed and mannered staff. We were served by Mani and she made her best efforts to make us feel comfortable. Fast service, probably the fastest in any fine dines we have visited in Adelaide. Nice and soothing ambience Food quality was good - served fresh and warm.

Some of the things that may be improved are: Provision of chairs with back support. The stools were comfortable but for someone like me with a back problem, that wasn't a great idea, especially if one spends 1 to 2 hours there. Maybe, they would have arranged something if I had asked. Coat hangers closer to the tables, especially when chairs don't have backs. We didn't find a place to hang our jackets. Though, Mani was prompt in offering help in hanging our coats at some secure place. While there is sufficient variety in menu for drinks, desserts, starters and non veg main course, the vegetarian main course is as boring and repetitive as one would find at any other Indian restaurant in Adelaide. I pretty much remember the entire menu by heart.

I have been visiting Rasooi since they took over Sukhsagar's premises on prospect road and have interacted with owners at multiple occasions. Given their professional backgrounds and their keenness to understand customer needs, I would expect Rasooi to offer better than it already...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had an absolutely wonderful experience dining at Rasooi in Prospect. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere set the tone for a truly fine dining evening. The elegant décor, warm lighting, and welcoming staff created the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication.

The service was exceptional — attentive without being intrusive, with the team making sure every detail was looked after. They took the time to explain the dishes, recommend pairings, and ensure that our table was always well taken care of.

The food itself was a true celebration of Indian cuisine. Each dish was beautifully presented, bursting with authentic flavors, and cooked to perfection. The spices were balanced masterfully, showcasing depth and richness without overwhelming the palate. The starters were fresh and flavorful, the mains were hearty and aromatic, and the breads and accompaniments were simply outstanding. The chef’s creativity and passion really shine through in every plate.

One of the highlights for me was how well the restaurant elevated traditional Indian recipes into a fine dining experience without losing authenticity. It’s rare to find such consistency across every course, but Rasooi delivered it flawlessly. The desserts were also a delightful finale, with a perfect blend of sweetness and texture.

Overall, Rasooi Prospect is a gem for anyone who appreciates high-quality Indian dining. It’s not just a meal, but a full experience — amazing food, fantastic service, and a lovely ambience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a refined yet authentic Indian culinary journey. Definitely deserving...
