I’ve been twice now and really enjoyed it here… now it’s not cheap but the dishes are generous, interesting and nicely presented. The service is fast even when they’re busy, which on both Sundays we’ve been - they have been. Sunday morning at least, before 12pm - there’s a wait of 10 to 15 minutes. You put your name on a list when you arrive and wait outside where there is seating. The time goes quickly and if it’s sunny, is quite pleasant. This is a lovely cafe. Lovely interior, lots of greenery and completely unexpected out the back of the burbs, in a quiet, little shopping centre in Windsor Gardens. The crisp, poached eggs with Kim Chi are different as is the pulled pork and waffle brekkie; eggs florentine were delish and the chicken burger I’m told, was really good - with two chicken patties and a red cabbage slaw on a charcoal burger bun. The Melo brekkie is substantial enough for two girls to share or one very hungry one, with a variety of breakfast options included on a wood board: grilled haloumi, baked beans, bacon, eggs and sourdough toast etc. it’s good. The coffee is smooth and flavoursome as is the dirty chai (this could’ve been a little hotter though). Coffee is a good temperature and the standard varieties are on offer here. Their long macchiato needs work, but order a Cappuccino and it does not let you down. I really like the ambience here - it’s a family venue, it’s an everybody venue and it’s warm - they have very comfortable outdoor heaters - and bustling; with a smile from the man at the counter, you feel like coming back here. Not for the instagram ops, but for the good food on offer and a damn good coffee. Their cake selection is minimal, but there are enough to select from, to have with coffee or tea. Everyone covered! It’s a nice little excursion out there to the suburbs, for a really good coffee or brunch. Their pancakes...

Melo is a lovely little local cafe , which has a very laidback atmosphere. It’s in a very small shopping village in Windsor Gardens ( takes a bit to find if you’re not in the area ) but it was undoubtedly worth the effort . The first thing I noticed was the plants - they well everywhere and obviously well cared for . The music was chill and they had a nice selection on the menu . My friend and I sat outside on the small deck where we had a view of the hills . I ordered the smashed avocado- which had , among other things , an amazing beetroot hummus smeared all over the place - it was so sweet and married well with the freshness of the the ingredients. And not sure how they make the vegan feta , but it was also worthy of a mention . The only thing I could fault was that they had run out of gluten free bread , but they did rectify this by giving me extra avocado instead ( which I actually preferred). I also watched the staff bring out some of the other dishes - would really love the teriyaki pineapple burger to be gluten free - but it’s given me an idea of what to make at home for a summer meal! The coffee was a brand called SoCo Roasters, which was a certified organic brand from Melbourne. This blend had the smooth chocolate / caramel taste that I usually prefer in my coffees . There was a constant steady hum of conversation, and the staff was constantly busy, but it was very cosy and relaxing with the fresh breeze - my friend and I didn’t want to move ! I had a lovely little chat with the owner who said he looks after the plants - as a fellow plant lover I recognise and applaud his work ! Easily a...

Hi Lucy, We appreciate your explanation. Also we understand how challenge it is to perform during busy hours; therefore we’d love to express our gratitude to your friendly staffs. Thank you as well for checking our orders to add your thoughts. However, there is bit of confusion in your description. Firstly, three of us ordered the Helo Melo. One as it is, another asking for hard poached egg and the third one added bacon after as you texted, but the egg was asked to be scrambled instead of poached during the ordering which proceed normally. All of us were looking forward to visit your cafe as some of us had good time over there last year. So our intention is only to share our experience. We are sorry if you can’t take that as an opportunity for improvement and we guarantee that you will not see us again. All the best.

I do not recommend it even some staffs being really nice and friendly and food presentation good it was flavourless. The Hello Melo got only a dash of pistachio crumbs. It could not be even tasted. On top of that they did not delivered our order as we asked for with agreed modifications. Then when we reminded them that the eggs were ordered scrambled instead of pouched they charged for additional eggs. Another point that caught our attention was a small note below the juices menu. As we did not order any, it wasn’t a big deal but this cafe is the only one we have seen that adds a fee for juices ordered without ice -...

We decided to try this cafe out on the recommendation of a friend. Considering its location in the back streets, it was busy and buzzing with atmosphere. It is a small cafe and the tables are close together so if you require a lot of space you may want to keep this in mind. That aside, it felt cozy and enjoyable for us and I really loved the inside plants. We ordered 2 lattes, Red Velvet Pancakes, Boss Benny & finished it all off with a Sea Salt Creamy Home Brew. The coffee was smooth, tasty, high quality and not expensive. The Red Velvet Pancakes were super fluffy with just the right ratio of pancake, cream, sweet maple syrup and fresh fruit. The Boss Benny was incredible. I don't know how a person figures out how to put those flavours together but it was absolutely sensational and I'd highly recommend it. The sea salt home brew was also very tasty and the perfect finish. The price was on par with most cafes but considering the atmosphere, the friendly service and the amazing food it definitely felt like value for money and worth every penny!! I'd highly recommend visiting but be aware they do sometimes have a wait list for their tables during their busy periods. It's worth the wait though!!! Not sure if they take bookings but if they did I'd recommend doing that. Thank you to the staff for the friendly service and amazing food. Keep up the good work!
