Thinking it would be a nice warm place for breakfast on a cold morning, we headed to the Sheoak Cafe. We were wrong. The staff are far too busy to do menial tasks like delivering your cutlery to the table, so there's a bit of a "do it yourself" vibe when you walk in.

Note: there is a sign saying they prefer cash payments because they need to pay their suppliers in cash. Cards are still accepted though.

"Belgian hot chocolate" tasted more like a cup of lukewarm sugared milk, with extra sugar and no extra warm. No chocolate flavour about it at all. Took a while to even taste it after having to delve through a good third of the cup filled with foam, and chocolate powder liberally sprinkled across the cup, spoon, saucer, and anything else within reach. Pear & raspberry bread arrived. Cut far too thick to eat. More like cake than bread. I'll be on a sugar high all day. The tiny portion of butter to accompany it sat sadly at the bottom its tiny dish. Sourdough toast was light and fluffy and entirely lacking in body. Like a squishy dried out cloud. I admit I'm a fan of hearty breads, so others may prefer the light fluffy air filled kind. Whatever was added to the baked beans gave them a burned taste - probably not what the cook intended.... or was it? Maybe they were going for the "home on the range" flavour? Big breakfast was indeed big. It's a shame the tomatoes were underripe and cold. Poached eggs were overcooked and cold. The beacon and sausages were also served cold. Overall: cold comfort and a...

A shocking experience. I have been supporting this cafe for years but enough is enough, I will NEVER visit this place again. I understand that covid restrictions and constant government changes have made it hard for businesses to run as they usually do, but today's visit was appaling. My family and I chose 4 things on the food menu only to be told at 1pm that 'none of them were available' and that they had 'no chicken left whatsoever'. So, we reluctantly made alternative choices only to wait AN ENTIRE HOUR for food to arrive. (even though the headcount was only 14 others inside.) When my big breakfast arrived, the pork sausage was drier than Alan Jones' humour, the toast was cold, the eggs overcooked, the bacon burnt and the tomatoes weren't cooked. The chips were good but the aioli was bordering on rancid. Then we waited an additional 25 minutes for an almond latte which was bitter and undrinkable. I am so disappointed to say that the Sheoak Cafe has lost me as a loyal customer. I can no longer put up with a cafe that has sub-par food and terrible coffee. (1...

Just posting to maybe get care back into meals. In the area working and called in for breakfast Avocado on toast with bacon eggs, added hash brown and asparagus. Waited 30min but was not busy cafe very nice and clean, staff serving very nice and friendly. Meal was very small for $34.00 with coffee. Everything was cold except for asparagus on top. Bacon over cooked to crunchy stage and cold. Hash brown tasted like oil Needs a change Toast cold and hard to cut. One spoonful of avocado tasted ok as cold ok here. I think meal must have sat on counter while asparagus was cooked to be that cold. Should have asked for a refund but just wanted to go.

A shame as food looked so good on line and Iโ€™m sure it could be if the care factor came back by the cook.

Was so looking forward to take my wife up there but not sure thatโ€™s possible now.

Two star only because of clean and cosy place with...

The cafe is a nice and vibrant, and overall a cosy spot for brunch. Only a few minutes away from Belair National Park, you can easily stop by there for food after a hike or trail. I ordered a burger and it was an absolute monster of a burger. As much as it looked amazingly colourful and well-crafted altogether, I found it really hard to eat without having to break it down. The fact that the burger was juicy also gave me mixed feelings because it was delicious but at the same time, I made an absolute mess on my plate. Besides everything, service was incredibly quick, staff was friendly and vibes were good.

Went here a couple days ago and it was probably one of the best places that offer diverse options. We ordered dahl and rice and eggs benny and both were served fresh. The rice was cooked and seasones perfectly too. All flavorful and value for money. The dahl was shared and it was still so much so we left with tummies full for a long journey back to nsw. The service was great, warm hospitable barista and kind staff. Coffees were amazing too. The outdoor seating area was also quite nice. Clean, spacious and cozy. Will def visit again!

A great atmosphere and location but you will pay for the privelage. It has a nice outdoor area with a childproof fence, and ample indoor seating. Nice bathroom too! Couldn't get over the price of a simple foccacia or a salad. We're talking $16-$23 for a small-med serve. The eggs on toast were nice, but also expensive. Coffee was good. I thought the service was friendly. I would come back here if I wanted to have a nice long chat with someone and have no pressure to leave. Also great for people with bikes.
