The warm and friendly ambiance adds to the overall charm, creating the perfect setting to unwind and indulge in their freshly baked delights. Speaking of delights, Espy Bakehouse prides itself on an impressive range of freshly baked sweet and savory treats. From their renowned pies and sausage rolls that have captured the town's attention to irresistible sweet indulgences like donuts and vanilla slices, there's something to satisfy every craving. The aroma of their freshly baked goods is simply irresistible and sets the stage for a truly delightful experience. Complementing their treats is the exceptional Altura coffee, known for its rich and satisfying flavors. For a cozy and comforting option, try their chai lattes made with creamy local Fleurieu Milk. While gluten-free options are limited, the wide variety of other mouthwatering offerings more than compensates. It's worth noting that there is an additional charge for card payments, including savings, which may not be immediately apparent. However, this minor inconvenience is outweighed by the overall positive experience at Espy Bakehouse. The bakery's commitment to baking everything fresh on-site shines through in the quality of their products. This dedication has made Espy Bakehouse a favorite among both locals and visitors alike. With generous operating hours from 7 am to 5 pm, seven days a week, it's convenient for everyone to drop by and relish a cup of coffee alongside a freshly baked, flaky-crust pie. In addition to the delectable food and scenic location, the service at Espy Bakehouse is warm and attentive. The staff goes above and beyond to create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring your visit is enjoyable and memorable. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Espy Bakehouse for a delightful culinary experience. The breathtaking ocean views, fresh baked goods, and friendly service make it a must-visit destination. Despite the minor inconvenience of the card payment charge, the overall experience is praiseworthy. Treat yourself to Espy Bakehouse and savor the flavors of their mouthwatering creations while basking in the serene beachside ambiance. Warm regards, Zahra Sahara Writer for Weekend Notes

review no. 53 & 54 of 2024 (Thursday 23/5/24) The ESPY Bakehouse Chicken Satay Pie $6.90 Went on down to The ESPY Bakehouse this morning. On recommendation from the baker, Mark I tried a couple of pies, first up the Chicken Satay pie. This was the second chicken satay pie i've had and it was a lot better than the first ! The presentation of the pie looked really good. Had a nice light looking golden top. Even when cut in half. Nicely sized. The pasty had a nice tidy flakiness to it, you could certainly feel it on the palette. The underside of the pie may have needed a touch more, but the flavour made up for it. The chicken satay flavour was outstanding. You could definitely taste the peanut flavour throughout the pie, nice bite sized tender pieces of chicken that tasted pretty fresh. You could definitely tell there was a bit of kick in the satay sauce, not too overpowering, just about right amount of spice in the sauce, but not that much you drown out the peanut flavour. It tasted restaurant quality. I was pretty impressed. Chicken is such a versatile meat and absorbs the flavour also. The serving temp was spot on. No one hand test, I dined in so I have a cross section of the pie. I was pretty impressed with the pie. Pulled Pork & Jalapeno pie $6.90 The presentation of the pie looked really good. Quietly impressed. Nice looking pie. The pastry on this one was pretty good on top, had that slightly flakey texture when biting into it and the base, the sides had a slight crunchy texture to it but it matched well with the filling My oh my it was packed full of pulled pork, slow cooked for 14 hours. They've done an exceptional job with the pork. Cooked perfectly, I couldn't fault it. Nice soft shredded pieces of pork. I could taste a hint of tomato in spots, combine that and the flavoursome pork with jalapeno and it was a really nice tasting pie. Just the right amount of jalapeno, you could still taste the heat a few seconds after having a mouthful, but not that where it lingers for longer. The serving temp was spot on. The pulled pork was my fave of the 2 of you had to choose ! Plenty of indoor dining space and some outdoor tables and seating, take in the views of the beach. The bakery is pretty much located on the Esplanade at Christies Beach (SA) at the end of Beach Rd. So if you're down that way tell em Marty sent ya 😉 Thanks to Mark and David for having me down there this morning. PS the coffee is good and Mum loved the passionfruit cake 👍 Unit 4/50 Esplanade, Christies Beach SA 5165 #ChristiesBeach #MeatPie #MeatPieAppreciationGroup For more Meat Pie reviews, join my group on Facebook the Meat Pie Appreciation Group

You get what you pay for It was nice to see affordable prices on the menu, I didn't expect Michelin star food based on the pricing but I also didn't expect search poor quality. Croutons were stale, bacon was basically raw and just thrown in whole and not cut into pieces the source was non-existent. The salad would have been great if I was a rabbit! My son's croissant was toasted nicely had a good amount of cheese and ham but took over 30+ minutes to arrive to the table I had to ask for it, when it did arrived there was no cutlery, that that took an extra 5 minutes to get to us. Service was slow to say the least an unfriendly Coffee was as weak and cold ambience was loud to the point where you Can't hear the person in front of you I only gave it two star because my son enjoyed his croissant when he finally got it

Went today Monday the 13th June.. ordered a large bowl of chips, 3 thickshakes banana chocolate and caramel. 3 cakes as well.. firstly waiting in line a staff member came up behind us snapped excuse me! When at the counter the girl asked me twice was it milkshakes or thickshakes and I confirmed thickshakes.. ten min after ordered girl looking lost with a bowl of chips so asked is that 93 which yes was ours.. sitting there nearly finished our bowl of chips seeing three thickshakes come up on the counter looking exactly like our order said to husband oh here they are but next min looked not at the counter any more .. look around see a family outside drinking 3 drinks that could tell were caramel, banana and chocolate.. so went to the counter to check on our order just incase the wrong people have it the lady didn't even check on if they had another order same flavour just said oh we are have a lot of milkshake orders.. ten minutes later two chocolate and a banana called I went up said I think they stuffed up as we are waiting for caramel banana and chocolate.. the girl said oh there is no table numbers on the receipt for drinks these are for people outside. went to take them outside but came back in with them..then spoke to another girl sending her over with the same 3 drinks to us .. told her again it's caramel banana and chocolate not 2 chocolate girl said not what the order said go back to make a caramel.. husband and daughter took sip their drinks nope milkshakes not thickshakes so husband takes them back saying the girl asked twice we said thickshakes the girl who had served us denied asking us trying to say our order was different.. when we finally got our three drinks 45 min after we placed our order we still got attitude when trying to say think the other family got our order .. cheesecake and vanilla cake weren't that nice in the end either.. wouldn't recommend and believe staff need to learn not to give upset customer attitude apologise and try fix for a customer not keep trying to blame...
