The Kiosk at Somerton — Restaurant in Adelaide

If you're not on a schedule and don't need to be anywhere, this is a nice, casual place to stop by with a friend after a walk along Brighton beach to grab a coffee and a casual takeaway style breakfast. The coffees are nice, the food gets the job done and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are always lots of cute dogs around and there's a beautiful view of the ocean.

However, this is not the place for you if you are starving or on a schedule. On a busy weekend morning it can sometimes take roughly 30-40 minutes to receive your order. One time it took almost an hour. The basic food items (like cheese toasties) are also pretty overpriced, but that's to be expected with how expensive ingredients are...

Wife's 1/4 shot skinny flat white was spot on, so happy wife happy life. Daughter's lactose free flat white was okay only because her "old-man" forgot to ask for 1sugar... Sorry Moonie. However the "old-man's" long black w' no sugar was excellent. Such is life. Looks like they have a great choice of cakes and pastries as well as 'cold' drinks too, even though we weren't tempted. Keep close to the serving window whilst waiting as a few people couldn't hear their names being called. But full marks to the staff for trying to...

Ordered 2 iced coffees and toasted ham & cheese. Iced coffees ($8.50 each) came with a huge scoop of ice-cream inside - we call that a coffee milkshake where I come from. Cant have nearly that much dairy due to crohn's disease. So had to chuck mine in the bin (didn't have the mental grit to deal with the people and order another) Never received the toasties as we left after waiting 25minutes on a fairly average day (was told a few more mins). What a total waste of 30mins of my life and $50...
