Zambrero Melrose Park — Restaurant in Adelaide

I went to Zambreros Melrose Park at 8.30pm with a friend who is coeliac. She has regularly purchased food from this Zambreros with no issues, only requesting gf products, and asking that fresh utensils be used for serving out ingredients. This evening, a young man served her. She requested fresh utensils and told him she is gf, and he was unable to give her a forward answer, nor use fresh utensils - he had also picked up a glutinous wrap with the same gloves he used to serve my friend her food. Feeling overwhelmed and unheard, my friend was very distressed, and felt unsafe to purchase any food from Zambreros Melrose Park this evening. I regularly get food from this place but today had absolute horrible experience. Came in at 10:20pm and they close at 11pm but still the behave from girl behind the counter was hell. As soon as I stepped in I politely asked whether they’re still taking order (as they were preparing to close) but the girl was ignorant and didn’t responded. I asked again assuming might not have heard but she looked right at me, rolled her eyes (as to why I came at last minute and spoiled their pack up) and without answering kept on wiping the floor.

Eventually a guy came from kitchen and took the order.

I noticed owner of this place takes times and responds to review, so I would suggest to look into this and coach the staff for basic...

Usually I’m not one for leaving reviews, and definitely not bad ones, but I’m so disappointed in the service that my partner and I received this evening. You could absolutely tell that the male staff member who served us did not want to be there. He didn’t once smile, was mumbling as he was going through the motions and was quite rude. For someone who works in hospitality, he really needs to reconsider his employment options, because he was clearly miserable. The whole service area was also a complete mess, and the plates that he was preparing the burritos on were also not clean.
