LJ's Cafe — Restaurant in Anna Bay

We had a big family group. The seating was sparse. There was a big hunk of tape on the bench seat coverimg a large rip in the vinyl. I ordered the Prawn Cocktail which looked amazing on the counter poster with big fat prawns in a fresh salad including cucumber. The meal cost $11.50 & the reality of it was around 6 tiny shrimps in amongst a whole lot of Sushimi crab meat (which isn't crab, just processed fish meat) & swimming in browned off shredded lettuce & mayo. Not the same as the pocture on the counter & totally disappointing & ripped off. Also two of my family group became ill a couple of hours after eating the Snapper. They had vomitting, diarrhoea & felt very unwell. Terrible. Didn't want to even rate LJs with one...

I've never had a bad thing to say about Anna Bays only takeaway store but two nights ago for the first time I complained due to spending $56 on two burgers and some scallops I get home to my works burger one of them had a perfect egg the other one look like scrambled eggs I take the burger back up with photos to be told that's how they works burgers come with smashed up egg I'd say that would be for a cost cut but I was wrong because my grandmother's works burger her egg was perfect in the owners of lj's must have had a really bad day with the tourists because Eli snapped my head off because I wasn't happy with the burger Never Again will any of my family order a single thing from this takeaway...

Ok, service was a little cagey but the food was great. I didn’t expect much on a very rainy & dreary day but I was pleasantly surprised. Fish & chips was amazing. Roast beef roll was all time. I went in asking for a schnitzel roll & was quite surprised when they said they didn’t serve schnitzel amongst all of the chicken options on the menu…. But I ordered the plan b & it was great. A word to LJ’s… Keep up the good work out there. A word to punters…. Phone orders might be hard to place at times & that’s explainable. Help is hard to find & kids at the counter might be green. But give the place a go & look beyond the front of house to enjoy the food & the...
