I have been buying Pasta from Pasta Di Porta for over 12 years. I first discovered them at the produce markets in Newcastle and became obsessed by their delicious pasta, making it a weekly buy. Then Dom and Peter took their business and opened a small shop in Anna Bay. My sisters and I armed with our esky’s would make the trip because it is so worth it. They have a vast array of raviolis to suit every palette, vegetarian, meat lovers and seafood fans all of them having taken out awards at the top fine food shows. I believe they are the most awarded pasta business in the country and deservedly so. Serving Dom and Peters Pasta is like having your own Italian Mumma out the back cooking up a storm, and anytime I serve it to guests they will have made new customers. I try to always keep their fresh spaghetti or linguine on hand for a quick and delicious meal and this Easter for an extra special treat for the family I served up the most delicious blue swimmer crab lasagna to my family of 9 with left overs for those who were quick off the mark. This wonderful shop in the Port Stephen area is worth the trip! I regularly buy their fresh pasta to eat with my own seafood or sauce but they also have countless sauces to go with. The raviolis (500g!) are exquisite with an incredible choice of fillings both vegetarian and meaty. I love the crab ones: so tasty I serve only with olive oil, lemon zest and a salad. The muschooms ones and duck ones are also excellent. The plain canolli with a touch of lemon is probably the best I have ever had (order or you will be disappointed)! Don't leave without buying a chunk of parmesan: so superb you will nibble on it while you cook. It will take me a while to try all.
