Generally, if you have times put up, you stick to those times, or put a sign on the closed doors of your business to say you have closed early.
We are travelling through Blackall, tired and hungry and saw the stuff about this bakery supposedly having award winning pies so we thought we would stop in. Apparently they close at 1.30pm, shop was closed at 12.15pm when we got there, and according to the couple sitting under the tree, they were closing the doors as soon as they walked out, so im going to take a guess and say 12pm.
If you run out of stock, put up a sign to say. If you are closing early, put up a sign. So travellers like ourselves don't waste our time.
Update: I can gaurentee the store was not open 20 minutes longer as we had gotten in at 1215 with no one to be seen in the store. I would not make a review without absolutely making sure that was the case and google had this bakery as open when we were looking for somewhere to grab food. Unfortunately we won't have the chance to amend this review as we will be going down the coast for...
Read moreWe drove from all the way from Brisbane to stop and try the award winning pies from Schluter's Bakery. I ordered a chunky meat pie. When I bit into it it had very salty gravy and little bit of mince in it so I took it back. Ok everyone can make a mistake. Apparently it was the chunky beef pie. I tore it in half. Nothing but more gravy and a bit of mince. I asked if it was the chunky beef pie then what was the mince one looked like. There was no response, no refund, no apology. Awful experience. The award can go...
Read moreSorry Schluter's, after looking you up on the way to Blackall and deciding you were the best lunch option, we were deflated to see that you don't have EFTPOS. We barely carry cash these days, even more so with Covid around. No cash meant no Schluter's, which meant cobbling something together from the IGA. We are out and about to support QLD country towns, but you've got to help...
