Well I'll start with saying that I had big hopes from the place, given the fact that I had eaten a sandwich 3 years ago and it was really good. Since I was back in the bluies with my partner and we had a big night we wanted to get a good brekkie. I ordered the big brekkie that people had been raving about but to my surprise it was actually way below average. The only good thing was the Turkish bread toast and on the contrary sourdough toast was so thin that I couldn't tell if it was a cracker. The eggs were ordered fried and sunny side up but turned up absolutely solid as and weren't runny at all. There was no sauce and it was just dry. I paid 70 $ for 2 brekkies and coffee and we didn't even finish it coz we just couldn't. I am sure the staff is doing a great job but with the Sunday surcharge and card surcharge and service charge and what not I expected a bare minimum level of quality. And the sausages in the brekkie werent any gourmet sausages or anything ( as you would expect if you are getting their highly raved big brekkie )they were literally the bunnings snag sausages...
Read moreHo hum.! The jetstar of cafes. Buzzing and fairly inviting, however... Ordered 2 breakfasts and coffees including a bacon and egg roll. The B&E ended up being only bacon on toasted bread. Went to get sorted and was advised we had only ordered bacon on the "roll".???!! Tongue in cheek I agreed, however this was taken seriously regardless that bacon on toast wasn't a menu item, and regardless that I was clearly trying to get the order rectified. Proceeded to charge extra to add egg on my B&E "roll".! To top it off waited another 10 minutes for the "roll" to be re-served by which time bacon was cold and bread soggy and egg overcooked. Just a lack of care. Was hoping for better.
Worked it out that my roll less surcharges cost substantially more than the advertised price somehow.
This is a harsh review but it's upto the business if they want to improve their service to non regulars /non locals or improve...
Read moreAfter a good 20 minutes of indecision about the various cafe options for breakfast on the main strip- we were told by a local that the veggie options down the road at altitude cafe were the best on the street. As soon as we walked in there was an immediate difference between our experiences in this cafe and the others. The pricing is reasonable! The lady at the counter was friendly and had a genuinely funny sense of humour and kind air about her. This just keeps getting better and I’m not getting paid to say this ahah. We ordered the BLAT and the veggie breakfast which was absolutely delicious, the BLAT was big enough for two and the pesto and mushrooms on the generous vego breakfast was a great way to start the morning.
We then went to finish on some coffee and it’s as good as coffee gets! Love the mostly/all female crew who are absolutely killing it with this gem little deli. Will be...
