So….this place gets four stars for one reason. The vegetable curry “turnover.” I’ll call it a pastie. I’m usually a sausage roll person but I spotted the turnover on the top shelf. Straight away knew it was fresh pastry and obviously a seller. Didn’t it hit the spot. Apologies for the photo it was an after thought. Try it. We also had the meat, bacon and cheese pie as well as meat, tomato and onion pie. Great pastry and fresh mince. As always I grabbed a sausage roll. My usual go to. The pies are a 3 1/2 but unfortunately the sausage roll appears to be a “sitter” and it scored a two. Value is great. $5.50 a pie and turnover . I don’t have sauce but 50 cents each a bit rich. Just try the turnovers/pastie…..Great pastry and super fresh filling ....

Squashy rhubarb cake slice ($4.50) was fine but not stand-out, and chocolate truffle cake ($6) was good and chocolate-y, albeit a bit dry. Service was disappointing - we were told that these cost $10.50 (correct maths). Later got a notification that $11 had been charged. No surcharge signage or mention by the person serving us, even as we paid. Either dishonesty or a ridiculous surcharge (especially for a non-public holiday)!! Will not be returning or recommending!

Mountain High Pies has everything great that this place doesn't - amazing atmosphere, friendly (and correct!) service, and delicious food...

This little bakery is open early so if you are heading west up the Blue Mountains the pies are excellent here. My fav being meat pies, the pastry is flakey, yum and the various filling are perfect so tasty and your taste buds are excited when entering into this bakery. take a drive up the road abit and find a spot to stop and chill with your fa pie or pastry.
