There are only few restaurants in the mountain that is open for breakfast… to my surprised I found this Victory Cafe in Blackheath, NSW opens from 10am-5pm. Well, less expectations since the place and style is just a regular cafe but dont judge the book by its cover as they said. It’s the first time we had a Hot chocolate above what we are expecting! Kudos to the barista, the foam is like melted marshmallow so glossy and really taste awesome!! I know the brand of chocolate they used as we have the same brand in the cafe but what makes it more better and different is the way it was made, they do it way way better! We ordered the Triple Cheese toast which is exceptional taste together with the hot sauce on the side. First time to had a toastie with hot sauce together (Sorry if my first time). I recom to try this when you visit the place. We had the Victory Breakfast which is a big serving breakfast that can be shared into 2pp… lovely staff too. You have options to stay outside or indoor for the table but we stay inside as it’s cold. Location: Blackheath, NSW (Mid Town) Price: $ Booking: N/A (Depends on weekends) Allergens: Yes, Available Parking, Yes within the compound

A great spot for Breakfast, Lunch or Brunch - or even a hot drink on a cold morning. The staff have been incredibly helpful and polite on each and every visit and the food has always been a drawcard with locals. We sometimes stop by the Victory Cafe when pondering a purchase at either the Antique Store or the nearby Collier's Crystals store. PROS: * Great, flavorsome food. * Polite and helpful staff. * Nearby bathrooms, both outside & inside. * An all-day Breakfast & Lunch Menu (from memory). * Acceptably priced menu items. CONS: * The odd rickety table. OTHER: * The potato fries, which are a part of several of the dishes (see pics) - have been literally inedible on several occasions. Locals have also noted the same. (I've worked in hospitality and this one is still a mystery to us). **Perhaps this issue has since been resolved?

Buzzing cafe in front of the antique market. Ginormous portions and great tasting menu, which, by the volume of customers, is a good indication is a good cafe to grab breakfast, brunch and lunch. Coffee is great too! Ordered their special, beer battered flathead. It was huge. I couldn't finish it. I just didn't enjoy the shoestring chips (aka fries), it was slightly overcooked. However, the flathead was yummy and the salad that also came with it, was perfect. Good service, friendly. I think they might have been a bit short staffed today or it was busier than usual. Give their regular items on the menu a go if you're around Blackheath, and check their blackboard specials.

I visited the Victory Theatre Cafe last Saturday and, like others at my table, ordered the Canadian breakfast - hot cakes, bacon and eggs.

Unfortunately, after a few bites, I realised that the hot cakes were under-cooked - for the most part, they were very gluggy. My table agreed that they weren't particularly palatable, but as it was extremely busy at the cafe, they opted to make the best of it. However, I could not enjoy my food and promptly - but politely - explained this to our waitress. She was apologetic and retreated to the kitchen with my plate.

However, this is not why I won't be recommending the Victory Theatre Cafe to my friends and family.

After I spoke to the waitress, the chef took it upon himself to stride up to our table and then demanded to know who had made the complaint. He then proceeded to aggressively "explain" to me that due to the ricotta in the hot cakes, that's just how they come - in fact, "doughy" was one of the words he used. Essentially, he berated me - openly, in front of other patrons - for having an issue with the food. He begrudgingly offered to replace my meal, but I was so disgusted with his behaviour that I declined to order anything further.

I've eaten ricotta hot cakes plenty of times, and a quick Google search will yield a number of recipes which describe ricotta hot cakes as "light and fluffy" which, obviously, contradicts your chef's insistence that the taste and texture of raw batter is the gold standard.

In addition to re-training your chef in how to prepare dishes on your menu, I'd encourage you to address his ineptitude when it comes to customer service. He was intimidating and combative, and it is for this reason that I would hasten to warn my friends and family to never visit your cafe in future, lest they endure the...

Wait time was over 1 and a half hour for food. At about the 45min mark we asked the waitress for an ETA and gave her our table number. She immediately said they’re busy today so it’s a little late (this is 45min wait time for bacon and eggs) but the food will be there in 10min and she will check with the kitchen and let us know if it’s not 10min. We didn’t hear from her again. Another 45min later we decided to leave and get a refund for our food instead. At the counter, they said they couldn’t find any food order for our table number and that “it’s okay”, they will just take the order now. We said we would like the refund instead, proceeded to show the receipt and they refunded us for less than what we paid. We drank the coffee in the 1.5hrs time waiting for food so we were happy to pay for that but they gave us less for the amount of food we paid for and never got. Good thing my husband checked and counted the cash against the receipt and pointed out that they gave us less cash. They argued but we pointed on the menu, showed the receipt and calculated (added) it in front of them then they begrudgingly gave the correct amount. It was a terrible experience and judging from the two tables next to us, we weren’t the only ones waiting for hours for our food either. Suggest you don’t go here unless you’re willing to spend a very very long time waiting for your food and pls make sure your order actually went thru to the...
