What a beautiful little gem of a place. Searched for somewhere for lunch on Google and thought the Tussock would be nice. I couldn’t find it on directions and was almost going to give up when I spied it nestled back on Wallace St. As soon as I walked through the front door I felt the peace, quiet and serenity. Menu was simple but adequate. I had the Camembert and asparagus pie w salad. Lovely crispy pastry, the filling a little under seasoned but that’s probably my taste as I eat too much salt😬. Nice macchiato. I took a peek in the cake cabinet. Mistake…. I caved and had a vanilla slice with passion fruit icing. Delicious 😋😋😋. It’s so nice to find somewhere that has completely homemade food. Chatting with Leah, I discovered the cafe has been opened for 21 ( or was it 24) years. Testament to quality food and customer service. The cafe also has shelves of pre-loved books for sale.
