I’ve been here twice, because after a bad experience I always give a place a second chance (unless the food is terrible). The first time the staff seemed inconvenienced by our being there. There are no food options for kids and at one point a staff member confiscated our bowl of sugar packets so the kids wouldn’t play with them. The food, however, was very good, which is why we returned roughly six month later (today).

Our experience today was much worse. There was a lot of confusion and congestion in the doorway; no one knew where to stand to ask for a table without getting in the way of the staff. We were finally stuck on a table around the other side of the balcony and pretty much forgotten about. 15 minutes after we were seated I had to go inside to ask someone to come and take our order. The food then took half an hour to arrive (which was almost an hour after we’d walked into the place) and all we’d ordered were a salad, eggs on toast and a bowl of chips.

The salad was great but the $14 eggs on toast were nothing but two fried eggs on two pieces of toast. No trimmings, not even a sprig of...

Who would have thought that Braidwood was the place to go for amazing food and sensational hospitality… The fact is this inland town is a fantastic place to visit and you would be remiss if you didn’t head to The Albion Cafe for some amazing food and delicious coffee.

The cafe has a great ambiance with a cozy lit dining room warmed by a roaring fire in the corner. There are baskets and bowels full of fresh produce that are on display throughout the venue.

The service is prompt and friendly and coffee orders are taken as soon as you sit down at your table. On that note, this is one of the few places in town that opens at 7am if you need an early morning coffee and feed.

The food is amazing. Stand out was the crunchy granola that had bowl set yogurt that was reminiscent of a silky panna cotta. The rhubarb compote balancing the sweet yoghurt and crunchy honey granola.

Usual breakfast fare like eggs and bacon are well prepared with poached eggs runny and golden. Bread is sourced from local artisan bakers.

Thanks for a coupe of great breakfasts!! I will be back next time I’m...

Our group of five attended yesterday for breakfast. We all ordered drinks and meals, and most of the meals had add-ons and specific requests such as runny poached eggs and soft bacon. We were served quickly and efficiently. Our drinks arrived very promptly. Mum's tea was strong, just the way she likes it. The half strength LB and Capp were both good. The lattes, however, were masquerading as capps, so that was disappointing. My sweet potato eggs were delicious including the broccoli. It was such a large serve, I didn't need the bread. Hubby and mum ordered soft poached eggs with soft bacon, roasted tomatoes and halloumi. They were very happy customers. Special mention to the large serving of halloumi. The smoked black beans were lacking flavour. Finally, the French toast looked great but, apparently, there is a distinctly more superior version at a nearby Cafe. By the time we left, there were lots of customers and the cafe was buzzing along nicely. I will happily return here confident of getting generous servings...

Wow, so glad we tried this place out. Fantastic service and fantastic food!!!! We arrived in the peak of a lovely winters saturday morning and were quickly greeted with a lovely smile and welcoming feel. No sooner had we been seated we were promptly offered drinks. The two rug rats were fairly restless and the wait staff quickly noticing offered some colouring in books to keep them entertained. The coffee was great, the fig & hazelnut toast lovely but the bacon burger was to die for. It is one of the best bacon and egg burgers i have ever had, deliciously crispy bacon with wonderful free range eggs topped with amazing tomato relish and creamy sauce. Definitely make sure u try it if you drop in.
