Vanilla Catering — Restaurant in Braidwood

The portion size is enormous. Go here if you are more than hungry! Their cakes are nice, but one slice is double the normal size, and more than enough to share between two. Mocha was light flavour, chai latte was very weak, and mostly milk flavour. Room for improvement with these two. Our order was messed up as it was quite busy so we received two slices of cake yet one was a different flavour to the one we had selected. I'll have to try the quince and almond cake next time. When you can actually get food here it is quiet nice. The problem is that the last three times we have tried to eat here half the menu has been unavailable and they don't tell you until after you have ordered and paid. If this is a continual problem the. They should order more. It is beyond frustrating when your first three choices are unavailable. Unfortunately this has absolutely ruined this cafe for us. Super disappointed. We also found the coffee was so strong when we ask for half strength that we had to get additional milk so that we could drink the coffee. This place is a hidden little gem, not often i post about how good a coffee is and a home made blueberry muffin! But this place is a must if your passing through Braidwood. Coffee that im currently drinking is made with love. All the beautiful cakes out on display, which im assuming is made one by one of the owners. She seems like a lovely soul.
