This is an outstanding pub bistro that works well on every level, from fine food, to a cool, laid back and relaxed ambience to efficient and polite service, ample parking and clean toilets. There are multiple dining areas, including the outdoor beer garden, which is ideal for spring, summer or early autumn. Plus there’s an indoor Spanish Garden restaurant which is probably the place I’d choose during winter. The Sun night that we dined, was a warm and balmy autumn evening, so it was ideal for alfresco-style beer garden dining. This place is always busy, so it’s advisable to book ahead. And, as you would expect, the vibe is energetic, lively and fun. Everyone has a smile on their face here as it's the kind of bright, happy and upbeat place you'll enjoy spending a few hours at. And you’ll know that you’re in capable hands from the moment you arrive at the front desk to claim your table. When we arrived, it was manned by two helpful, friendly and polite young staffers. For first timers to the B.C. Hotel, these guys will explain the drill to you and show you to your table. If you ask, they may even give you a relic from a past era: a paper MENU! Fancy that. But seriously, we didn't need one, as we are now quite familiar with app ordering and how to link our Monty’s Rewards card to the app, to get our reward points and the generous 5% discount off the bill. Once you’ve ordered, it doesn't take long for the drinks and food to arrive. Despite the crowds, this place hums like a well oiled machine. These guys don’t miss a beat, and it’s all done with a professional demeanour and a nice smile. What a pleasure. The staff are a credit to the A.L.H. Group, to which this hotel belongs. Prices are reasonable considering the Weimar Republic-style hyperinflationary crisis we’re now enduring. I had a schooner of my fave super crisp Great Northern Lager for only 7 pesos, a pot of VB for the same price and my wife had an aperol spritz for 15. For food we choose lamb sausages with peas and mash for 28 and a nachos plate for 17. Both dishes were nicely presented to the table on stylish crockery. Serving sizes were generous and they scored highly on taste, flavour and texture. Of course, no restaurant, no matter how good, will get 5 stars from me unless they have those two vital ingredients that elevate them to that lofty height: i.e. ample, clean and well signposted toilets and easy parking. And on both these counts the B.C. did well. The toilets could probably be a bit better signposted, but they are clean and well provisioned, with ample male and female cubicles. There’s a huge parking area in front of the hotel and they sure need it. We arrived early to find it almost full, but luckily someone pulled out, giving a convenient spot right outside the hotel. Altogether, a thoroughly pleasant and enjoyable experience, for our first time at the B.C., and I’m sure it won’t be our last.

The Breakfast Creek Hotel located at 2 Kingsford Smith Drive at Albion is a French Renaissance style hotel with 5 bars including a Rum Bar, Steak House & Beer Garden. Some of the highlights of this establishment is that it has Bar games, wonderful Cocktails, live sports & live music, it also has great bar foods available. The Breakfast Creek Hotel has Wheelchair Accessibility Car parking, Wheelchair Accessibility entrances, Wheelchair seating & toilets are also on-site. My wife & I had the pleasure of visiting this magnificent hotel this morning, enjoying a great cup of coffee from the coffee, dessert & pastry bar. We then stayed for lunch to enjoy one of the hotels famous rump steaks that was so tender & cooked to what we ordered. The Idaho potato & sour cream, along with the fresh salad made the meal taste even more delicious! We were more than impressed with the cleanliness of this establishment & the wonderful Customer service that was provided by the staff at the Breakfast Creek Hotel. The Breakfast Creek Hotel dates back to the 1889 & has been through 2 World Wars, numerous flooding, but has always stood the test of time. One of the traditional things that people visiting the Breakfast Creek Hotel is to try a "Beer on the wood", you will not be disappointed. This establishment is one of the major attractions in Brisbane & is also a fantastic meeting place for anyone wanting to enjoy the a great selection of fine wines, spirits & wonderful craft beers & beer on tap. We can't wait to go back again in the very near future to once again enjoy a wonderful meal & a beer on the wood.

A little disappointing after receiving such high praise from a friend. We were really looking forward to trying the steaks so my wife and I decided to order the eye fillet and T-bone steak. My wife ordered the $66 eye fillet deal and the T-bone was my choice. We were a little underwhelmed by the meals and the service. On a positive note, we were served at the bar promptly. Good start. We proceeded to order and waited 45 minutes. It was a busy Wednesday evening so we understood the wait and we're looking forward to our meals. The steaks arrived and my T-bone was cold to luke-warm. On a positive note, the chips were warm so I can't help but think the steak was cooked first and the chips were added after the steak had time to cool down. I may be wrong. The side salad was ordinary at best. My wife's meal was presented in such a way that it looked a little average for the $66. Finally, I was lucky enough to receive a bread roll and butter with my meal. My wife received the butter, but no bread roll. Anyway, the staff member collecting our plates offered to rectify this with a takeaway bread roll. We laughed and politely declined the offer. Perhaps our expectations were too high after eating an excellent fillet steak the night before at the 'Pig and Whistle' bar in Brisbane. That was a 5* experience. It was obvious the BCH staff were busy. It may have been understaffed on the night or perhaps we were just expecting too much. Anyway, we won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Food was delicious and came out quick, however, it was a side dish for 2 people, not a main dish. I ordered the sweet potato and chickpeas, presuming with would come with other salads. It's really was just 2x whole baked with chickpeas on top 😳 It was delicious, but no one wants to eat just a plate of sweet potato and there was so much i couldnt even finish it (plus I was sick of earing just sweet potato). You can add extras bit then the meal is expensive and ridiculous huge and would throw half of it away. If they actually thought it through, they should offer a small (1x sweet potato) and large (2x sweet potatoes) along with a main extra (falafel, chicken, etc). Then that is a normal meal, not 2x sides of the same thing. I was there at 2.30pm (Friday) and every single table had a reserved sign on it, so it was strangely empty, but still some tables full. There were other people wanting to get tables, but couldn't. I think some of the tables weren't booked until 7pm. They could have a system and still use those tables as long as they we gone by 6pm, as there were groups of 6 people trying to eat awkwardly at the bar on a 3 seating table whilst there were 20+ tables empty. It was a weird atmosphere out the back for that reason. Overall though, beautiful venue and excellent service. So I would go back and order a different meal (or share it). And if I was eating with friends, definitely book a table in advance.

I was so disappointed in my meal. The garlic bread was very salty looked like something from woolies. The steak that I paid $65 was so tough and disappointing I feel like it was cooked passed medium rare and not rested. The crispy fried onion was terrible if that is what you call it. I couldn't find the onion and the mushroom sauce was like sludge. Whilst the tap, order and pay might be convenient it takes away staff and staff interaction with clients. One staff member when I went to get a drink was chewing gum and I had to watch whilst I interacted with them. The glass ware was filthy, I know they can't check every glass but it wasn't busy and I only asked for one. I will include a picture Another young man was quite loudly rearranging chairs right next to me whilst I was eating.what looks like a middle line manager was standing at the wall near the ladies toilets spent more time fist pumping and talking with staff rather than maybe talking to customers. Anyway I was rally disappointed

I get a bit nervous in pub environments with a lot of large, drunk males, but it was very comforting having such a kind female serving behind the bar! When I got nervous to order, she was happy to help me out & stayed focused on my order until she knew we were finished! That was amazing! I didn't have to panic that someone might push in or try anything. She didn't show anyone else any attention & I felt calm knowing I would be sitting within a minute!😊 The food was the same! A kind female served us & was so polite about everything. ☺️ One thing I did want to comment on, there were three TVs where we were all on the same sport channel. We were discussing how it would be nice if one of the smaller screens had music videos playing (there were some great songs people might have joined in more if they saw it as well😜), or maybe X-treme sport videos. So we could watch short clips of wild jumps off snowy cliffs or surfing huge waves. Just an idea added.💡
